Removed popcorn ceiling with asbestos in great room.

They came out the same day that I called for an estimate and took a sample to do the testing. For $75, it was worth testing. If the test had been negative for asbestos, I could have saved a lot of money -- eliminating this asbestos removal project entirely.
The sample was taken that morning and the written test results were emailed to me by the evening. Nice turnaround!
Their representative was very professional, answered all of my questions about asbestos (and I even found out that he has appeared on Flip This House occasionally!) Unfortunately, their prices were higher than the best bid that I got -- otherwise, I would have chosen this company for the project. I am glad I had them do the testing, though, so I knew exactly what I was dealing with.

This company is very responsive, comes out when they say and are knowledgeable and professional. The crew worked carefully and efficiently to remove all asbestos including removing crumbling asbestos from boiler pipes. I initially thought they were a little too expensive, but they tried to work with me. I had received another bid initially about a 25% less, but the other company repeatedly didn't get back to me and wouldn't put all the work agreed upon in a written document. So we went with Bruce Environmental because we felt we could trust them and they were reasonable and kept appointments. It was a very good experience. About a month or so after the removal I saw substance I thought might be more asbestos in the basement, so did several work men. So I called Bruce En. and they came out immediately, told me it was not asbestos but when I looked doubtful they took samples and sent it to be tested at an independent agency. The results were back to me in a few days. NO asbestos, just mineralization and trace amounts of fiber glass insulation. They sent me a copy of the official report. They did not charge me for this service and as I said they were very responsive so I didn't have to wait around worrying about things. Thanks great company.

I initially called this company for an estimate after I was told that the old flooring in my basement most likely contained asbestos. I was given the option of letting them take samples for testing or taking my own. Jon gave me the name and address of the lab and I sent samples for testing. When the results came back with what I thought were fairly low levels of asbestos I called the EPA for more information. I was told that I could remove this material myself but after reading all the precautions and disposal requirements I decided against this. The crew arrived on time, introduced themselves and explained the work they would be doing. They set up an machine to filter the air, sealed off the area and quickly started work. Initially I was told it would take a full day but they were done in a little over half a day. The inspector came by several time during the process and checked the air after they completed the job. When they left, the area was exceptionally clean, and the waste was packed up, labeled and hauled away. I had no problems at all with this company and would recommend them if you need to have asbestos removed from your home.
