Description of Work: I bought a washer & dryer from Home Depot.

Description of Work: FYI: I am told that Home Depot owns Vigoro (I do not know how true this is). In February we put down new dirt we bought from Home Depot and planted some 30 Podocarpus bushes around our pool ($30 dollars each). When we finished planting the bushes we put down some 20 bags of Home Depot’s Vigoro rubber mulch (because the workers in the garden area of Home Depot said it was the best to put around plants that will not blow around) (even on the Vigoro bags it states good for plants). NOT SO. From late February to early August, we noticed a lot of our bushes were starting to turn brown on the ends of the branches; visiting Home Depot and talking to a Master Gardener he stated that we needed to use this fertilizer and that fertilizer (nothing worked). Then a lot of the bushes died. This went on for months, so finally we did research on line and found out that this rubber mulch is toxic to all plants; not only that but it leaches tire chemicals into the dirt and poisons the dirt and kills the plant roots (nice right). So I went to the Home Depot (again) where we bought the rubber mulch and the store manager did refund our 20 bags of rubber much. She kind of knew that this was a problem with this rubber mulch. So after finding out all of this toxic issue, we had to take up all that toxic dirt, all the toxic rubber mulch and buy more clean dirt and Cypress mulch in its place. Neither Home Depot nor the City that I live in wanted the rubber mulch in their waste bins. It took myself and my wife many, many, many hours to redo all of this. We asked Home Depot to compensate us for all the labor in replacing all this stuff. They ended up giving us only $150.00 bucks for some 60 hours of work each putting it all down, picking it all up on top of putting in 30 bushes. I originally spoke to a clerk, then to a supervisor, then to a manager at Home Depot’s Headquarters, to no avail (cause I was looking for a lot more money than what they offered). I asked to speak to an Officer of Home Depot, they would not forward me to any officer (this went on for weeks). They told me finally to it or leave it. At the same time I told Home Depot about another Vigoro product (believe Home Depot owns Vigoro) Vigoro’s Weed Landscape Fabric. I spent 4 extremely hot hours in our S. Florida heat putting this product down around our 10 trees with dirt on top of it to keep the fabric down only to find out a week later that weeds grew right thru this weed fabric (what a laugh, boy did I laugh about this one as did Home Depot workers). Had to pull up all that Vigoro fabric. A Home Depot worker in the garden area informed me that I should not have use the weed fabric cause it does not work (wow, no kidding Einstein). I informed everyone at Home Depot that they should take these products off their shelves but to date they have not. They did not want to speak or compensate me more for these issues. I am writing this because I want customers to know about Vigoro products and how Home Depot does not handles their customers problems or take care of Home Depot responsibilities properly. If Home Depot were forced into hiring a Landscape Company to undo and redo all of this work we had to do, it would have cost them over $800.00 easily. This is not a good thing how Home Depot handled these problems; but they still continues to sell these defective Vigoro products. We think you all should beware of any Vigoro product/s.
