flaw in the workmanship, the installer would accuse me or my wife of doing something to cause it. NOTHING was ever their fault. We and our decorator complained to Pro Source and tried to get them to remedy the situation, but to no avail. We asked Pro Source to come to our home and see first-hand what we were upset with and judge for themselves if our complaints were legitimate, but they would not. Pro Source got tired of listening to our complaints and washed their hands of us. They referred us to the installers insurance company. The insurance investigator informed us that insurance does not cover shoddy workmanship or damage to property value. I might add that Pro Source vastly overestimated the amounts of materials needed for the job and that I now have a thousand dollars worth of tile I have no use for.
Their sales staff were very knowlegeable and frank regarding the pros and cons of my choices and I appreciated their honesty and candor. My contractor was also able to participate in the discussion and between the three of us I think we were able to come to a good decision on the carpet I purchased and I liked the advantage of having the whole team in on the choice. Even though it was my money I felt we all had 'skin in the game' as nobody wanted to do the job twice because we hadn't done our homework. The fact that your contractor is also a customer of the store helps give that feeling.
I feel the price was competitive if not better than the big box stores and the quality (or maybe the choice in variation of quality) was superior. Th overall experience was much better than shopping a big box store for such expensive items as carpets of flooring.
