Hollenback Heating & Air Inc

12 yrs with this contractor. Semi-annual HVAC maint appt for 11/29/21 in afternoon made several weeks in advance. Morning of 11/29, a message from contactor "can I come earlier in the day ?" My return call "Yes". I waited until 5 pm for arrival. I called office and svc person 2x in afternoon to determine appt status. NO SHOW, NO PHONE CALL, NO APOLOGY. Total disrespect for my time. NOT ACCEPTABLE !!! HVAC work done on 12/3. No consideration for NO SHOW. Raised visit fee by 50% after-the-fact.

Around midnight I awoke to a strange sound from our heatpump--the outside unit kept running despite the inside having reached the set temperature and the circulation fan shutting off. The compressor was pounding and in an abundance of caution, I shut off the breaker. I waited until 6 in the morning to e-mail the home buyer's warranty folks. Within minutes they indicated they had contacted a "local" HVAC repair company.
I was surprised and very pleased to find that the company the warranty company contacted, Hollenback, was listed on Angie's list!
Hollenback is 50 miles away, so I called them directly to make certain that they actually serviced our area--they did. After I described the problem, the dispatcher/manager asked me to text him a photo of the information label on the outside unit--which I gladly did. As a former electronics technician myself, I recognized that knowing the precise type of equipment one is going to repair is a wise idea when the customer is an hour away from the office.
We agreed that even though the unit was down, it was not an emergency--the weather here in Lower Alabama was near perfect for the next couple days.
The service man called and made an appointment for noon the next day. He arrived at the appointed time, he had a good idea what was going to be needed, he had the part, and the unit was up, tested, and running fine in less than an hour after he arrived.

Their price was reasonable. They were prompt, came out quickly, came out when they said they were and did a good job. They had to come back because I did pick them up in my mother's house and had to come back and a few weeks later because the air conditioner quit cooling again and they came back a few weeks later, they didn't charge me for the service call. They just had to replace the panel but they did want to do it initially because that was more money and just tried to free-on but he didn't charge me for that service called and I thought that was very nice.

Patched insulation around duct work in attic. Productive, polite employees. Other local companies quoted up to $3200 for the same repairs.

Terry is a fair and honest business person, and he did a great job.
