Arrived on date scheduled with crew of three, Brian (the lead) and two others. Was to take only a couple of hours, but after 6 hours and two trips for materials, crew had to return the following day. The front door issue was partially repaired: rotted roof decking and shingles replaced but the rotted soffit (ceiling) still needed replacing and wood needed to replaces the workers did not have. The rear roof issue was not completed...not enough time as workers were waiting for more supplies. Two workers returned the following day and completed the job, and did a fairly good job of cleaning the area after the job was done. A week or so later after the 1st rainfall, the patio roof still leaked at the same locations prior to repair plus an additional location. I called the company and the following day, tow workers came out (one was one of the original three), they added some tar calking under some of the shingles and said to call them if I had any more problems. Rather than wait for the next rain, I put a water sprinkler on the roof. Within two minutes the roof leaked. I again called the company, and left a message. With no reply within a couple of days, I called again, and again, and again. Their voice mail responds "..we will call you back". Well, they never. After a couple of months, and many unreturned calls (22), I contacted the Better Business Bureau to see how to make a complaint. lo and behold, the following morning Brian shows up (without my calling again), and looked at the roof, said he knew what the problem was, and would be back the following day with the needed materials. That was in early October 2014. Haven't heard from nor seen any one from the company since. I had to place a tarp on the underside of the patio roof, so that when it rained the water would be caught and drain in the yard to keep the patio dry. I finally contacted another roofing company who made the repairs and in the process had to redo the work Escambia/Santa Rosa roofers had done.
Do not hire this company.
Brian Baier charged us $550 to repair our leaking roof. During a rainstorm, it leaked worse than prior to the repair. He would not return numerous phone calls made to his business and personal phones. We left as many messages as we could until we were constantly told his mailboxes were full. We also sent numerous text messages. He only contacted us twice. The first time he contacted us, he told us he would stop by and never showed up. After 6 weeks of trying to chase him down, we got exhausted and took it as a loss and filed an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Pensacola.
The BBB was unable to make contact with him after the 1st notification (10 days). After the 2nd notification they made contact and he called us again. We asked him for a refund since we had lost all confidence in him and his product since he would not return any messages or phone calls. He told us our option was that he would hang up on us then proceeded to hang up. We are not comfortable having him come over to attempt to fix the roof as he was aggressive over the phone. We decided to hire another roofing company and take it as a loss.
However, we want to inform the public to read all reviews on the BBB website and read all the complaints about him thoroughly as we all seemed to have the same complaints: he makes faulty repairs, takes your money then evades you and never returns calls until people just give up. Please do your homework so you do not get ripped off like we did.
Their company uses the names Escambia Roofing and Siding Inc, Escambia Santa Rosa Roofing, Escambia Roofing and Escambia Santa Rosa Roofing. Read all reviews posted by real people on yellowpages online, Ripoff Report, Google Reviews, and the best website is the BBB of Pensacola which lists formal complaints in detail and if there was any resolution.
