All Pro Sound

We had purchased equipment many times from All Pro and were very impressed with their service and quality of products.  I had been reading for years about the stadiums and theaters they supported installing lighting and audio in, so when we decided to upgrade our stage lighting, we wanted All Pro to submit a proposal with at least two other local companies.  After reviewing experience levels and the details of the proposals, All Pro again impressed us with a much cleaner agreement, clearer pricing, and an overall better contract.  Most of our early contacts were with Mark, who represented All Pro well.  Our room is a bit of a challenge, which is one of the many reasons we wanted to rely on All Pro's experience in this arena.  We have a network of exposed beams which can interfere with lighting and audio and create visual and acoustical shadows.  Too many inappropriate lights had been placed in the ceiling and we cleaned all that up, which darkened our stage, causing heavy shadows.  This project was undertaken to alleviate those problems.  Everyone was nice and professional, and Mark even sent us some gel samples when folks were concerned with "glare", but our biggest issue remains shadows.  The flanks of the stage are not well covered and folks on stage still have a fair amount of shadow in their faces.  Most of the lights were mounted straight against the stage with no fill at classical angles.  We also debated heavily between LEDs and traditional lamps.  I have yet to see LED lighting where the whites do not appear too blue.  This was no different.  To offset the blue tint the VWs (Variable Whites) threw, the team mixed in some RGB LED lamps as well.  The lights came with three pattern covers, something like 20, 40, and 60 degrees, but the shadows forced us into the wider throws in hopes of cutting some of those shadows.  I don't know if the design underestimated the number of lamps we needed or they should have been mounted in more of a fan approach with some lamps on 45s, but for the money spent, we were hoping for a better result that would also leave us with the flexibility to support some better drama productions as well.
