I guess the main issue was the lack of communication. When the office manager would call to give us information of what to expect, it usually was not what would take place. The out sources Waterline pool used for the actual work were very sloppy and lacked craftsmanship. The head supervisor that was to head up this project was absent from the work site most of the time. The owner of Waterline, Vic Norberg is not hands on when it came to the dissatisfied customer. We left voice messages and emails. We felt we were lied to most of the time, or just told would they believed we wanted to hear. There was one time when there was an inspection scheduled and the inspector found the entry gate to the yard had a lock that was too low and it had to be higher. So Dan ( supervisor ) came out to explain why we failed the inspection. He said the lock had to be placed higher and that the gate need to swing closed. He showed us how to tightened the spring mechanism, and reiterated how important it was for us NOT to pinch our fingers.... Meanwhile he has the adjustment tool in his hand and he is showing us how to do it, but not once did he suggest he do it. Really?! What would take us a awhile would take him a few minutes? No! He had no desire to do so. What if we were an elderly couple and couldn't do this, we'd have to pay someone to make the adjustment? It should have been part of Waterline's customer service value. To be valued as a customer. A customer who has just spent $27,000 on a contract with your company.
Description of Work: Let's start with the Do's.... Found company on a weekly flyer. Made contact with sales manager Joe Lewchanin. Mr. Lewchanin came to our home gave an assessment and we decided to move forward with the pool project. Pool installation commenced on 7/18/2011, hole was dug...first don't...(we) had to remove part of fencing so that the machinery could come into the backyard. This portion of the fence faces the public road. We had been told after they were finished (on a daily basis) they would seal up area....never happened. We understood that this was going to be a construction site, but the workers would leave everything in disarray, like their lunch garbage, drinks, and packages from materials used. Two days later they returned to add rebar and two days after that they poured the gunite. It was about 1week later when the plumber showed and told us what his part would be. This man was an elderly man who could barely move with ease, he was all on his own. He started to dig the trench for the plumbing pipes, I watched him as I thought he would pass out of heat exhaustion. He would dig a little, eat chips and take a drink, dig, eat chips, dig this went on for about 2 hours. The plumber would get calls from his daughter who seemed to need his assistance every other hour. At one point he had to leave work to give his daughter's car a battery jump, he never came back that day. So now it's been about a week and half and we have this trench leading up to a hole. Plumber returns about 4 days later says he is going to lay the pipes, install the pump. Upon completion of the piping he told us the electrician would be out to install pool light and then the inspector would be out after. The office manager of waterline Bob Wilson, called to inform us that they made a mistake, there was no inspection at that point so the plumber will be back to close the trench. The trench was covered two days later. Meanwhile let me just say the "hands on" supervisor, Dan Eaton was hardly EVER at the worksite, not even after a day's work was done. Dan came to the property one time before the project began and about 3 other times after that. On 8/11/2011 the paving crew came out to install pool pavers. Keslie was the owners name. His crew was to level out ground around pool and walkway for paver install, process took two days. The ground around the pool was supposed to be leveled and it NEVER was. The actual completion of pavers was on 8/16/2011.... The don't....they never leveled the area around the pavers, the pavers were shaped badly, especially the corners. The concrete used was NEVER cleaned up after use. The excess concrete was left all around the perimeter of the pool. We just recently had to pay a handyman to chisel it away so that grass could start growing. On 8/16/2011 the electrician came out to install pool light. On 8/17/2011 the baby fence was installed. Owner of paver company Keslie had to redo a few pavers on 8/18/2011. Finally! Are we done yet?! NO, the clean up..office Manager calls tells us they are sending a crew to level ground, pick up trash and general clean up. Two days later, ONE guy shows up with a wheel barrel...Really? Needless to say it was a poor clean up! A crew? Doesn't that mean more than one person? Pool was finally filled with water on 8/23/2011 and there was some issues with the marcite that needed repair, it was repaired on 9/14/2011. But the real kicker came on 8/26/2011 when the absent supervisor ( Dan ) showed for the pool schooling and to add the salt and said, " When are you ladies going to replace the sod"? We ask why? His reply, " we are gonna have to dig in three different places". What?! We say. He says, " ah, yep, someone drop the ball and well the inspector did have to inspect the electrical line to the light in the pool after all". We were so besides ourselves at that moment. The pavers were already placed and the yard was getting back to normal and now you want to dig some more! Of course, we complied and it was like that for about 3 days, when I fell into one while cleaning the pump's filter. Just terrible customer service! I called the office and complained. The same old plumber came out and wasn't pleased he had to dig up holes and then come back to cover them. By the time the whole project was done we were so exhausted with stress! This was supposed to be a happy time for us. That "hands on supervisor", which makes me cringed when I think about that, was NO HELP at any given time throughout this process. He came out to place a pressure gauge on the pump for the last inspection back in Sept. And there it remains! He removed the plug from the pump and placed the pressure gauge and never came back! We have since called the office three times to ask that they remove the gauge and replace plug.....still waiting.
