John came by and did the bid, he was there for almost an hour. He seemed very thorough in his inspection of our equipment and getting all the information for our bid. John got the numbers back to me and while he was not the cheapest option that we had, his approach, detail, and general attitude is what led us to choosing him. (We felt like it was going to be fixed correctly by him) Scott showed up the morning that John told me he would be there. The pool equipment had started leaking more and would not hold a prime, so the equipment was up and running before Scott left for the day. Scott also found another leak potential while fixing the equipment, brought it to our attention, and we agreed to have that fixed as well. He actually started tearing out the old tile the same day too (which was not expected by his timeline provided when we first met). John dropped by that afternoon to see the progress and the crack issues (since it was now fully exposed). They gave us a date that they would return and completed the project efficiently and successfully. Since the completion of the job, we are no longer losing water while the equipment runs, the spa is no longer losing water, and the work looks great. Since we have bought the house, the pool has not looked or been as clean as it did this past weekend. The only B I gave was the price, again it was not the cheapest price we received, but in my experiences, cheap is not always the best route to take, and in this case it was worth the extra money. We have peace of mind and are an extremely satisfied customer. Thanks John!

Scott came out and repaired the pump in no time. This was a great company called them Monday and they were able to come out and do the repair the next day, fair price for the work completed. I would definitely use them again.

Another company gave me a really expensive quote for a pool control I needed. Within 30 seconds he found some wires that had been misinstalled, perhaps on purpose, and he fixed them. I kept giving him more and more jobs, and would reccommend his pool service to anyone. He is really good. The proof is in the pudding. He does all the work himself. Been doing it for 35 years. I was really impressed with the guy.

I had a crack in my Hayward 3600 Pool DE Filter which needed replacement. I called several Pool Repair companies from Angie's list and received the lowest quote from Pool Authority. We agreed to have the work done 2 days later in which Scott arrived exactly on time (even called 30 minutes prior to confirm) and finished the job quickly. Excellent service.

Over a period of two weeks, they drained the pool, scored the previous surface and put another surface on the pool. They then filled the pool with water and began shocking the pool. Over the next few days they came and tested the water and added appropriate chemicals as well as brushing the surface. The pool looks beautiful. They also replaced the pump on the pool that had gone bad. Very good job on all.

Steve was amazing! After being advised by one service that I needed an entirely new filter and calling several services that didn't even want to look at it, I found Pool Authority on Angie's list. They came out the very next day and assessed the problem, and no I didn't need a new pool filter. Steve came back the next day with a pump to unclog some pipes that were clogged with leaves and debris. Then he serviced the filter completely checking all the pipes, fittings, sand and gaskets and reassembled everything. He showed me what he was doing every step of the way and explained what was happening. He told me what settings to use for maintaining my pool (I'm new to all this) and explained how the whole system works. Steve was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Many companies try to take advantage of women because they think they don't know anything, but Steve was quick to tell me there was nothing wrong that couldn't be repaired. I greatly appreciate working with such fair and honest people! I strongly recommend Pool Authority for any pool needs you may have!

The tech had to make several trips before he was able to find leak. At first I was a little concern but his persistent in attempting to find leak put my mind at ease. Have not had a leak since then. I found them to be honest and would hire them again.

We had no problems scheduling the service. However, the service did not work out. He arrived and said he was not able to do the leak detection for the price that was quoted. He said he would have to charge us an additional $200-$300. For the $100 I spent all he did was walk around the pool.

Called to set up new pool service. They called right back were pleasant and understanding about my dog situation. Explained I needed a set day and approximate time and they were very responsive to my concerns and needs.

I arranged for a service call because of the noise my pump was making. A man arrived whose name I do not recall. He was on time. When I told him of my concern, he took the pump apart and showed me the problem. He returned the next day and replaced the bushing. The charge for the repair was higher than I had anticipated but he said it was an expensive part. At that time, he was told of a pool resurfacing job I am planning. He gave a ball-park figure and told me he would get back to me with a quote via email. He failed to follow-up. I have no problem with his work and I can accept the high cost since I know from experience the price of parts for pumps. However, his appearance (grooming and clothing) was most unprepossessing (and I am a flaming liberal). I thought something must be wrong. All I can say is that I was not surprised that he did not follow-up. Regarding use of this provider in the future, I wish there were a third choice: maybe. I kind of liked him.

They were quick at responding, reasonably priced and keep my pool perfectly clear.

However, he marketed other services which we were interested in yet he never provided the promised estimates or made any additional contact with us whatsoever. It seemed surprising as the additional services would have costs considerably more than the small amount of money we spent on the Angie's List Deal. As such, we would recommend this company to provide adequate service when it came to detecting a leak in your pool and repairing it, but could not positively comment on any additional services they may attempt to offer. We were quite disappointed.

He found the leak in my pool. He cleaned out the pool first. He didn’t repair the leak though, he just identified the leak. It turned out okay. I had no problem with the technician. I paid him an additional $500 to clean up the pool and that included replacing a component on the pool filter. Outside of the misunderstanding, I like the people.

Everything went well! I was very pleased to find there were no leaks and that evaporation was our problem!

Came out on Tuesday, the day after I called, as promised and quickly diagnosed the problem with our pool pump. Scott told us that he had to take the pump to the shop to have new bearings put on it. If the shop could do th work that day, he would be back on Wednesday. More likely it would be Thursday, which it was. He re-installed the pump and it sounded nice and quiet again, as it should. He accepted the 10% discount for Angie's List customers. Everything was very smooth. We would have them back again.

I SHOWED HIM THE AREA WHERE I FELT THERE WERE AIR & WATER LEAKS. HE WOULD NOT REMOVE THE BOX COVER. I SCHEDULED FOR THE TWO VALVE REPLACEMENT. A DIFFERENT MAN CAME A FEW DAYS LATER .AND I HAD REMOVED THE QUESTIONABLE BOX COVER. I SHOWED THIS NEW MAN BOTH THE AIR SUCTION AND WATER LEAKS UNDER THE BOX COVER. IT TOOK HIM 3 OR 4 MORE SERVICE CALL TIMES TO FIX IT WITH QUESTIONABLE QUALITY. MY $99.00 ANGIES LIST DEAL TURNED INTO A $610.00 BILL, AND BASICALLY I DID ALL THE TROUBLE SHOOTING.

John even came back the next day to verify the problem was solved.

I called to schedule an appointment. Who ever answers the phone couldn't manage a message.

This company gave me the best price out of 3 estimates. They were professional and punctual. When the tropical storm threw off their schedule, they worked through the weekend in order to meet a date by which i needed the resurfacing finished. I recommend them highly. My pool looks brand new. Replaced my pool pump and motor with parts that I already had on hand. The mechanic had to re-pipe the motor and pump. This was not an easy task. Great job with no problems at all...

Mr. Skop made a special trip at the end of the day to come fix my pool pump motor. He showed up on time, was very friendly, and made a lot of helpful suggestions to get my pool at my newly purchased home up and running. I highly recommend Bay Area Pool Authority

They arrived on schedule and worked very fast. They are very thorough and their workers are very pleasant and polite! We have used this service for several months and do not have any complaints. (If we weren?t satisfied, we would look for a new company.) We are very happy to recommend this company to anyone.
