Shawn went above and beyond during the home inspection. We had used him previously for another home inspection and he found a lot of issues with that particular home. We ended up not purchasing that house due to the findings. We then found another home and I knew from the previous inspection that Shawn would be very thorough. This inspection came back looking a lot better, however there was a question of the method used during building (6 years ago) , to secure the roof to the building structure. Typically this is done with clips/straps but it appeared that nothing was securing the roof in place. Here is where Shawn went above and beyond. He called the City of Niceville to have them look up the builder information and the inspector information, to find out why the home was signed off on without clips, and to see if it was secured via another method. Within 24-hours he emailed us a description with pictures of the type of screw used during building to secure the roof, and re-assured us that it was up to code and secure. I feel like he actually cared about our investment enough to research this for us and dig up the answers. Shawn Norris is an amazing inspector and I can not recommend him enough!

The home inspection went well. The time needed was customary and the time in which I received the report was less than 24 hours which is very rare.

Excellent. I have purchased over 10 residential properties in the last several years. I was getting a little jaded about home inspections, feeling like they might be a waste of money. But this experience with Shawn Norris changed all that. I was buying a newly constructed property so I thought everything would be in order. But Shawn found several issues that would have cost me significant money in later repairs. He also went back to check that the repairs were done. So worth the cost of the inspection. His reports were well documented with pictures and descriptions of what the correct approach to repair. Extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of building.
