LOWE'S

We decided to hire Lowe's to install hurricane shutters in June, on August 18th we received an e-mail that the shutters arrived at the store. Come September with the news that a massive hurricane is heading our way I am told the installers are too busy and will not be able to install prior to the hurricane, we had to spend close to $1,000 to protect the house after paying over $12,000 to purchase the shutters. After many visits to the store and trying to talk to the store manager (unsuccessfully), they give us a date for installation at the end of September. One of the pieces was the wrong size so they had to come back several weeks later. Fast forward to the end of February we still do not have the final OK from the city as the inspection failed for 2 violations. After almost six months since installation I still have not been able to talk to the store manager as he refuses to call me and he is never available at the store when I go look for him. Long story short, DO NOT EVER use Lowe's for a home improvement project, once they get your money in advance they do no care about you.

The initial dishwasher I wanted was not in stock but the sales person was able to make a suggestion for an alternative which turned out fine. They were professional and timely. For both appliances they moved the old ones so it was perfect.

The cost was $630.00 installed. They came on time, installed it, and took away the old washing machine with no problem. It was pretty straight forward with no problem.

Good customer service and inventory in appliances as well as hardware.

I ordered windows and doors for the entire house on June 10, 2013.  I used Lowes line of credit through GE Credit.  Lowes took 100 percent of the money on June 18th. (as a note I have paid this down to less than half the total)  The Garage door was provided by Allied Doors, they did  a great job, no issues!  I ordered French doors to replace a slider, even after mearsuring twice, they sent in the wrong size.  The Window install was done in September and most of the windows are great, I have already seen a reduction in my energy cost.  The late French doors installed last week, and are perfect.  The installer cracked the front door frame when installing.  The replacement was to be installed with the French doors, but of course the wrong size came in.  So as of October 6 and after paying Lowes on June 18th my house is still not done.  OH - I have one window that I have asked now three times to recaulk because of the uneven caulking. 
Bottom line, windows are of high quality, but service and install just are not there.  Use Angie's list and buy else where!
One last note, once the job is finished I have arranged for a wind mitigation to be done to reduce my house insurance.  Because Lowes has dragged out finishing the job, I can not get a final building inspection or insurance inspection which is cost me money.
One last note, you are not allowed to remove the stickers from the windows or cap the screw holes until you have your final building inspection.  So my family has to live with two to three stickers per window or door until they finish the install.

In September 2010 we had hurricane impact windows installed in our Florida room. We have had nothing but trouble with the installation, and Lowe's has been impossible to deal with so far as getting the problems fixed. To date, we have had 10 different people come and look at the problem and pass it off to someone else - who doesn't resolve it. A list of the things that were wrong include: 1. They didn't show up to install as promised, because they forgot to order the mull bars 2. Holes were torn in the exterior T-111 - and not repaired 3. Huge holes were left in the wallboard 4. Spackling - done three times - was never done satisfactorily. 5. Windows bind when trying to open 6. One of the three windows will not stay open - but slides back down on its own 7 Screens did not fit properly and would blow out in a strong wind 8. New windows were delivered with scratches and gouges in the finish 9. They covered NOTHING when they sanded the spackling. Our house was full of dust from it. CROWNING BLOW!! A week ago - we raised one of the windows and ten minutes later a heavy metal bar fell out of the window and almost hit my wife on the head. So far, all we are getting is lip service - but no action. Three employees were here today, but they left with no final confirmation of when this would be resolved. All of the work has finally been completed, but 7 months of issues is way too long to complete a job or replacing three window openings. We will never shop at Lowe's again, based on this horrible experience. 6 months - and counting - is waaaaay too long to get a $5,000 installation done correctly.
