"Aaron Lenker add Corbin Gillichbauer of Groundworks leveled concrete walks around my corner lot in Montoursville Pa. They arrived around noon time and were finished about 5 1/2 hours later. They did their work very professionally. They did an excellent job. I would rate their work 5 of 5 stars."

"How did it go! Painless! I had no idea what I wanted, so I asked, what do you think? David at Advanced Surfaces Inc./CTi gave me a few suggestions from his experience which made my decision so much easier. Once I made my decision we set a date and CTi: *Showed up on time. *Ran into no problems (I have had contractors try to add on things unforeseen, which boosts up the bill $. *Completed the job with professionalism, dedication and commitment to quality. *Explained to me how long to let the materials set and how to correctly care for. I highly recommend David at CTi for his personal involvement, giving me options on what would look great (and it does!), his conscientious attitude (David called me a few days after the job was complete to make sure I was happy!) and his "Taking Care of Business" (David and I agreed on a day & schedule and it was completed as planned, weather permitting, of course. It was a pleasure working with David at Advanced Surfaces Inc./CTi, I highly recommend this company for any decorative concrete patching and resurfacing. Thank You David you went above and beyond my expectations. :-)"

"I can’t say enough good things about Chad and his crew. We feel so lucky to have found them after several contractors never called me back after promising to do the work and left us with half started projects. Not only are we thrilled with how it came out, the price was reasonable (there were some permit issues from things which had recently changed) and Chad and crew came and fixed everything in a timely manner!!! Chad did everything he needed to do to make sure we were set!! I would recommend Chad over and over again and already have. If you need an outdoor patio installed or other various landscaping work please do not hesitate to call Chad first. :) We are so happy to have found him."

"Wonderful experience working with Ray and his staff. Very professional and knowledgeable, assisting in the planning and creation of a beautiful retaining wall of natural stone and a stamped concrete pool apron. Our inground pool is now a show piece. Ray was always available, answering our phone calls promptly, and patient with any of our questions or concerns."

"I highly recommend Rivers Construction for your next home improvement project. Dan and Janel are wonderful people and easy to work with. They come when they say they’re going to, keep me informed with regard to the work that is involved as well as the cost. They both have great work ethics, pay attention to detail and stand by their work. I’m very happy with the work they've done for me over the past year. Dan and Janel are the best and you will not be disappointed."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
