"We had major problem with our chimney and with the cold weather we wanted to get our wood stove back on line. I was very nervous about "Chimney" companies because I had heard so many horror stories, but this company was awesome! Sarah was great, professional, listened to what I had to say and quickly addressed my issue, I had someone here within 6 hours! Nate and Antonio were more than professional. Got the job done right the first time. I will actually be using this company for additional work to be performed. Price was reasonable, no complaints here 5 Star rating! Awesome job guys!"

"Jacob did an outstanding job on our chimney. He applied a CrownCoat to the chimney crown, fully waterproofed the chimney, flash-sealed the flashing, and installed a new liner. Everything was done professionally and with great attention to detail. The work looks clean, solid, and built to last. You can tell Jacob really knows what he’s doing and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend him for any chimney service work."

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Burning a single palm tree stump, if you’re careful, is technically doable DIY. However, you should always take precautions to control the fire and do research if you’re burning multiple types of trees.

Some trees, such as ornamental trees, black cherry, and some oak trees, release toxins into the air when burned that can be irritating to your lungs (or even dangerous) to breathe in.

To get rid of the smoke smell in a microwave, scrape off any burnt food residue and throw it away. Next, warm a cup of water in a microwave-safe container for three minutes. Then, dip a microfiber cloth into a mixture of water and a couple of drops of dish soap and wipe down the inside of the microwave. Dry the inside of the microwave with a fresh cloth and let everything air out for three hours.

Some of the most common chimney problems include:

  • Creosote buildup

  • Chimney blockage

  • Deteriorating brickwork or stonework

  • Cracked chimney top

  • Damaged flashing

  • Flue liner damage or deterioration

  • Damaged chimney cap

If you suspect you have a chimney problem, contact a masonry contractor for an inspection.

Pricing a fire-damaged house is tricky, and it’s best to involve some professionals. First, get a comprehensive repair estimate from a fire damage restoration expert. Next, have a real estate agent get you an as-repaired value for the home, which represents what the house would be worth if fully repaired. Subtract the repair estimate from the as-repaired value to get the as-is value.

All of the components of stucco are non-combustible, so the siding material won’t ignite or spread fire to the interior of your home. However, it also expands and contracts with changes in temperature, so it will crack from long exposure to heat. Eventually, fire will spread through those cracks. Still, stucco is one of the best siding materials for fire protection and can keep you and your family safe for an hour, on average.
