"Next time you walk by an egress window on one of these flipped homes - check out the workmanship - crooked, leaking glue out the sides, certainly no permit. I know this because I have witnessed it AND I called one of those "cheap" window people for an estimate (notice how they are ready at the drop off a hat and then drop out of sight when there are problems? The window placed by Egree Inc is perfect. Was it more expensive - not much more than as egress window placed in 2013 that was equal in quality. It was also permitted, inspected, and sits level without leftover glue seeping out the sides. Was there a wait time - not more than I would expect from any quality provider. I was kept informed on the timeline and the window was completed as promised. BONUS - the workmanship is guaranteed and the company will be around to stand behind the workmanship. Excellent work."

Small jobs welcome

"We had a big job. Excavate down 16" in ~600 sq ft basement floor, new slab, walls, large retaining wall, 300 sq ft' patio, egress window install, several staircases and walkways. I met with 5 concrete contractors to get bids. From the start, Efren's bids were among the most competitive and he asked constructive thoughtful questions that other contractors didn't. The Accurate Grading team impressed us at every step in the project. They showed up early everyday and worked incredibly hard, staying late and working weekends in order to complete job on time. Efren is super knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. We will be hiring his team for all future concrete and landscaping needs. Highly recommend Accurate Grading"

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

Depending on size, material, and labor, two windows can cost between $600 and $1,600.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

A good U-factor for windows is 0.30 or lower, but they can range from 0.20 to 1.20. A general rule of thumb when it comes to the U-factor is that the lower, the better.
