Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. They especially like wet areas where they can burrow and loose soil where they can dig for grubs. They are also attracted to dense ground cover, where they can often find food sources.

If you have a large number of leftover roots, shrub branches, rocks, and soil to remove from your stump removal project, you may need to call a professional junk removal service. A small truckload of junk removal costs between $75 and $125 to haul away. You may also have a free composting center in your area where you can haul the materials on your own.

Several leaf-removal tools are available to make this annual process easier, including a leaf grabber, leaf tarps, leaf blowers, and leak vacuums. Each piece of equipment works differently, but they all achieve the same goal of picking up leaves as quickly and easily as possible.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.
