"Did great work replacing a storm door and an exterior door for us - they look and work great, he even came back out six months later to make adjustments at no cost when one of them shifted a little with the weather."

"????? Absolutely Outstanding Work! We hired Power Landscaping to build a concrete patio and firepit in our backyard, and the results exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, their team was professional, on time, and easy to work with. They really listened to what we wanted and delivered a beautiful, high-quality finished product. The patio is flawless, and the firepit has quickly become our favorite spot to relax and entertain. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are top-notch. They cleaned up thoroughly after the job and stayed on schedule throughout the entire project. We?ve gotten so many compliments already. Highly recommend Power Landscaping if you?re looking for expert-level hardscaping and great customer service!"

"The project was to install synthetic grass in a very irregularly shaped area of the backyard. Very prompt response to our request for an estimate, and provided options with different costs; scheduled the work for one week later and completed the entire project within two days. Excellent job, very neat work in spite of the odd shapes and curves; complete cleanup. We are thinking about having some additional landscaping done and would definitely contact Greens with envy"

"Carlos called me literally five minutes after I put in a request for contractors to call me. I told him we had to wait for the landscapers to remove a bush and move some rocks over so that the area would be cleared for the job. He said he could help with that. They did much more than help! They did the extra job of removing the bush and moving the rocks for a nominal price so that they could start my job. The price for the driveway was very fair! They are very fast, hard and efficient workers."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, adding a sunroom can increase your home's value, with a return on investment (ROI) ranging from 20% for a screen room to 50% for a three- or four-season room. The amount of value added depends on the design. Fully insulated, temperature-controlled four-season sunrooms add the most value as they can be included in the home's total living space. In contrast, simpler structures like Arizona rooms or solariums typically have a lower return as they don't count as legal living space. A high-quality sunroom can also be an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially those who enjoy gardening. The value may also be higher in warmer climates where this feature is more sought after. When deciding, consider both the potential resale value and the personal value you will get from using the room.

If you want to hire a professional to build a screened-in porch, a local sunroom or porch contractor is your best bet. If you can't find a local sunroom builder, another option is to consider hiring a general contractor to perform the work.

If you're handy, you may consider building the porch yourself. Before you do so, make sure you understand the local permit requirements and building codes so that you don't have any problems with the safety or structure of the porch.

A solarium is a luxury addition to a home and can be an excellent breakfast area or reading space, but that doesn't mean there aren't disadvantages. For one, since the room is made of glass it can look dirty very quickly. Another disadvantage is solariums are notoriously hard to balance temperature and will most likely significantly increase your heating and air conditioning bill. Unlike a greenhouse addition to a house, a solarium won’t help you grow as many plants.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.

The cost of winterizing a screened porch can vary depending on the chosen method and the extent of the modifications required. Simple options like installing vinyl panels or using vinyl sheeting tend to be more affordable, while creating a four season room can involve higher costs due to renovation expenses. It's best to consult with professionals or obtain multiple quotes to get an accurate estimate for your specific project.
