"Our leak wasn't to bad under the house. So it wasn't long before it was fixed. The technician did not leave a mess in my home either. When he closed up the crawl space door. Excellent customer service."

"I experienced Greg to be a very accomplished, knowledgeable handyman.. because he helped me with a diverse variety of needed repairs in my home as well as outside landscape issues.. including sprinkler replacement and repairâ ¦ fixing my toilet.. and fixing bathroom shower issuesâ ¦ replacing my garbage disposal. Straightening up my forward leaning abhor with a stainless steel pole he cemented into the ground and attached brackets to abhor..I found him very professional courteous and very confident and capable in dealing with every issue I needed him to fix and help me with in a sincere and personable manner that I also very much appreciated in addition to his obvious experience and handyman skills. Greg got these jobs done for me in a 3day window I had before I left for vacation! ..I was very impressed.."

"I called on Thursday and talked with the owner, Chris. He gave me an estimate over the phone for cleaning my gutters and windows based on the square footage of my house and said it would take about 3 hours. I happily made an appointment for Saturday morning at 8am. Chris and his crew arrived early. All were professional and courteous. After confirming the agreed upon services, they got started right away and spent the first couple of hours outside. Then they took their shoes off and came inside to clean the inside of the windows. When they were all done I was presented with an invoice for the agreed upon amount per our original phone call. My gutters were filled with a lot of gunk, apparently they may not have been cleaned for a number of years. Chris said it took 2 hours to clean them when normally it would take an hour. And I have a lot of windows. I was very pleased that the invoice agreed to the estimate I received on the phone. After they left, I found that one of the window screens wasn't seated correctly in the window, and my green waste bin had been moved and filled with the gutter junk, making it too heavy for me to move back. I called Chris and he had his crew come back in the afternoon to fix the screen and they took the green waste bin out to the street for me. Overall it was a great experience and I will use them again!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, adding windows adds value to a brick house. Homeowners don’t shy away from more natural light and an opportunity to get fresh air. Adding a window is particularly beneficial if you live in an area with good weather for much of the year or if your home has a nice view. Keep in mind that many older brick homes have historic wood windows that add to the charm of the house. When you install a new window in a brick house, you’ll want to find one that matches the aesthetic of the existing windows.

While windows increase a home’s value, how much they increase it can vary. It depends on the age of the home and the type of windows. You can expect about 70% to 85% return on investment (ROI) when adding a window to your home.

If you’d rather repair your screen door mesh than replace it, you can patch it. Purchase a mesh patch for screen doors with small holes or tears, especially if the mesh is pretty new. Hardware stores and websites sell mesh patches that are easy to apply with an adhesive or a warm hair dryer. Keep in mind that repairs won’t look as aesthetically pleasing in most cases as a full replacement.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.

While the telltale signs can vary for different types of screen doors, it may be time to learn how to install a screen door if you're noticing rotting, warping, or splintering accompanying the sagging. If you’re unsure whether to replace a sagging screen door, consult a local screen door pro for an inspection and final decision.

Options include fiberglass, aluminum, and pet-resistant screens to suit different needs.
