I called JW to move our existing heating & air unit under the house and out of a closet. The owner, Jeff, came and after a very thorough inspection gave me a very detailed estimate including before and after pictures of other work. I did have one other person come to give me an estimate, but Jeff's professionalism won me over. The workers who actually did the work were just as professional. They arrived on time, worked very efficiently, and completely cleaned up when they left. After a very bad experience with another heating and air company, I have nothing but praise for JW. I would definitely recommend them for any of your needs and will use them again if necessary.

We had a broken blower motor and we called Jeff out to give us an estimate on getting a new unit. He patiently walked us through all of our options, but in the end, we decided we couldn't afford a new unit. Jeff worked with us to get a technician out to give us an estimate on how much a new blower motor would cost. After deciding we would install a new blower motor, Jeff's team was incredibly thorough and did an incredible job of quickly getting the new motor and installing it. After installing it, they thoroughly cleaned the unit and even refilled some of our freon.

What does everyone do when they don't know anything these days, we go for the internet. I have to admit I was ignorant about HVAC before exploring the web. We decided to replace the existing 35 to 40 year old system, including the ducts. In my reading and educating myself about HVAC from the web, one site suggested that you can get a mediocre unit and have a mediocre to a poor system if they do not take the time to properly install the system, sealing ducts, proper ventilation, checking for air leaks, etc. You could also take that same unit and have someone actually take the time and energy to install it properly and have a decent system that would probably outlast one that is poorly installed. In the long run you would end up spending many more dollars out the roof in higher energy costs if a system is not properly installed. It is not easy to locate a contractor that 1) Being honest and through and up front with the customer about what would be involved during the process, what the job would entail and what to expect, how long the job would take. 2) Willing to do the job right, the first time. Not demanding payments and then ripped off with your money. We had another company out for an estimate. They were just going to replace the furnace and air compressor. He would do new ducting in the attic for "x" more dollars, which actually seemed reasonable. Everything was additional and he kept adding more to the list. But, I could see that this guy was just "blowing smoke" though and only wanted to close a deal. I had asked the sales guy how long would it take to come in and replace the entire unit and ducts. His reply was "Oh just the one day." We first came across JW Heating & Air from Angie's List.We contacted Jeff at JW Heating and Air, He was the only one that actually sat down with us to listen to our needs and concerns. He took the time to measure the rooms, asked what type of sun exposure we have and Jeff made suggestions even before he brought out a contract to calculate a price. We were a bit surprised with the cost differences, however after analyzing the two bids we decided to go with JW Heating and Air. Even though Jeff's estimate was nearly twice the cost of other bids, and even though he said it would take about four days to install the system, (this is not a quick 'in and out' project and not possible to be done in one day) it has well been worth the price and effort. Our old coil had been leaking water, and because we already knew that the basic air conditioning unit (3 1/2 ton) never was able to cool the house on hot days, we decided to change the whole system at once and upgrade to a 4 ton unit. JW's presentation was very professional and complete, and we decided to go with them. Kudos to Mr. George Magnani of JW for his consummate professionalism, and his thoughtful responses to our many questions. When the installation team arrived, George introduced them to us (Sean and Ramon), and they went to work immediately. Their work was truly exemplary in all respects. Our house was kept immaculately clean by the working team. They had to work in incredibly difficult conditions in the attic of our home when it was over 100 degrees outside. The work was finished when promised, and the entire installation was outstanding in every respect. When we had the installation inspected by the city, the inspector looked carefully at everything and said that it is a very good thing when a company takes great pride in their work as shown by the quality level of the installation. So thanks again to JW, to George, Sean and Ramon(and the people who back them up) for a great experience!!!

Jeff came in on a Friday, started work on Tuesday, was 95% finished when I got home Tuesday afternoon, and came in Wednesday to make one small change to the system per my request. You wouldn't even know they'd been there. No mess, no sign of workers, and a fantastic system. After they were finished, I couldn't figure out how to work the system, and I was a hint frustrated. However, Jeff's crew came by the very next morning, made some modifications (no charge) and all the problems were solved. At night, this system blows cool outside air through the house. It's silent, incredibly fuel efficient and makes the whole house fresh and ventilated. I highly recommend this to others who already have AC - in Los Angeles, our nights are cool, often cool enough to replace AC. It's a great way to save money, and have a nice cool house when you come home in the evening. The price of $2867 is a little high in my opinion - but granted, I did not shop around, and I felt J.W. would do the work right the first time. I have had my fair share of disappointing contractors, and I know that cheaper is not better. So while the price was high, the value was high too. Jeff gave me a yearly maintenance contract for free, if I agreed to do the job early the next week (he had workers available and wanted to fill his roster). That was a nice 8% discount on the work. Jeff and his crew are nice, professional and just about as perfect as contractors get. I'll use them again for future work.

It turned out the only issue was that the filter needed to be changed and the unit had to be reset. They responded immediately to the issue and were very professional.

Jeff - the owner of the company - came over the next day. He spent two hours fully inspecting, measuring, and evaluating our home from top-to-bottom. He came up with a list of options, ranging from a complete replacement of our 50+ year old system to the simpler AC job that we immediately needed. He was very committed to quality and offered us a discount. In the end, we didn't use his services because we have a baby on the way and found that the options were beyond our budget; we opted for a basic window air conditioner - which might or might not work, but seemed worth the smaller gamble. Jeff accepted our decision cheerfully, and we were very happy to have his estimate and evaluation in hand, since we know that we will eventually need the work he recommended, and his professionalism and attention to detail will surely put him high on our list when we go down that road.

It went very well. The repairman arrived within the scheduled time. Asked what was wrong. I told him and within a half-hour had repaired the AC system to my complete satisfaction.

Very professional. I only received an estimate from this company, and did not decide to do the work at this time, I would not hesitate to call them in the future to have them perform the installation.

First George came over on the day I called and did a thorough check of my existing central heat system. He explained to me the shape it was in and what the process of adding cooling would be. He even told me of a possible extra cost of fixing a vent. The next day his associate, Joe came over to inspect the job. They gave me a fair estimate and started the next day. They arrived on time and finished when they said. They were very pleasant to have around and very neat. I would definitely recommend them!

The installers had to come in two trips. This was not a problem since I was in the middle of a major renovatio of my condo.

Dealing with this company was a pleasure from start to finish. They were knowledgeable, informative, and efficient. They consulted with me at each step and kept me informed. They cleaned up after each day of work. There was no damage and no mess, and the results look very good.

I found JW Heating and Air, Inc. on Angie's List. I was scheduling estimates from several companies on the same day and JW was able to accomodate that. The first company was running late and could not make their window, so Jeff Williams, JW's owner, became my first appointment due to his punctuality. He was very professional, putting booties on his shoes as soon as he arrived. He presented me with a folder of information about his company, including referrals and evaluations from prior satisfied customers. I was particlarly impressed that he included copies of his state license, and proof of insurance (both liability and Workers' Compensation). Jeff discussed my needs with me, then toured my house to see my existing vents. He went up to the roof and spent some time examining my 30-year-old unit. When he returned, Jeff laid out all my options, and made his recommendations. He did not make any attempt to pressure me into purchasing more than I needed, but made sure I understood the basis for each of the things he was suggesting. Once I had decided what I I did, and did not, want, Jeff sat down and prepared an immediate estimate. I was relieved that it was not too far out of the ballpark I had expected. I initially told Jeff I still wanted to get the other estimates. But he made me feel comfortable and confident enough that, when he said he had an opening in his schedule two days later, I decided to trust my instinct and accept his bid. When the day came, Jeff arrived along with his crew, who were equally courteous and professional. I felt secure enough that I just showed them where the termostat and bathroom were, and left to go to work. They finished the installation that day, going more than the extra mile to ensure the installation--and the equipment itself--met Jeff's own high standards. He returned two days later to check the work and take "after" pictures, as well as to finalize payment. He provided me with the paperwork and information I needed to apply for rebates and a federal tax credit (which combined cut the cost of the work almost in half). He again went through the house to ensure all the vents were working properly. He also helped me with a problem I had programming the new thermostat. It was clear he was available to resolve any problem I might have. The whole experience was so reassuring that I signed up for a multi-year service contract. I would absolutely recommend Jeff and JW to my family and friends.

The company was very nice on the phone, extremely responsive and sent someone out right away to give us an estimate. Because we are in the middle of construction (open walls) we wanted to do the work right away. They came here timely, but never got back to us with an estimate. It has been over a week now and there has been no call, no email, or any other communication from them. I guess business is great and they are not looking for more. I cannot recommend them because I really do not like companies that waste my time.

I am very happy with the work. It went perfectly smoothly. They were pleasant to work with. He was very flexible with the terms of the installation. It worked out smoothly according to the schedule with no hiccups.

It turned out good. Everything was OK. They were good and very responsive. They came out and did a presentation. They came up with a price that seemed a little high. It was hard to compare and since he had such a good reputation on Angie?s List I went with him. The workers that came to install were good. We did have a problem the next day and they came out and got it all fixed up with no problem.

See above. I would recommend these guys to anyone who isn't sure what's going on. He didn't perform any actual work, but I have to tell you, he gave me complete confidence in his work ethic. If I do have a problem in the future, I will absolutely call this company. Jeff showed up in a company golf shirt, and gave me his card as soon as I opened my door. I am a very unhandy woman alone, and am very glad that Angies list is out there for me. I have had some very bad experiences on my own!

I am happy with the work so far. They seemed to want to do the best job possible. When I went up and looked, everything was neat and in place. It was immaculate. The workers were very friendly and answered all of my questions. They tried to make sure I understood everything. Overall I was completely happy with them.

Jeff came on the first day and took measurements of each room and window to calculate the proper system to install in the house. We found out that the original ducting had asbestos. Jeff scheduled a company to remove all the ducting. They arrived promptly as scheduled and finished the job in 2 1/2 hours. Next Jeff's crew came and in three days installed the complete system and including an attic fan. The crew was prompt everyday and professional. They cleaned up after the job was completed. I was very please with their workmanship and professionalism. Jeff was very honest on the type system to buy and explained the entire process clearly. Jeff also went over the operation of entire system and the settings. Great job.

It went excellent. Their employees are fantastic. The employees are very competent and gracious. The city building inspector said, "This was one of the best jobs I've seen." Everyone who has looked at my attic loves the results.

That same day they came and diagnosed the problem. The control board on our furnace had blown. They were able to convince their supplier to provide the needed part even though the warranty had expired two months prior. That saved us $800 right there! Also, I asked them for an estimate on how much it would cost to split our home into two separate temperature zones. The owner told me it would not actually translate into a cost savings because of how much it would take to make it two zones, and offered different much cheaper ways of improving the heating and cooling of our house. How many times does a service provider talk you OUT of giving them money? That never happens! I won't hesitate to call them next time we have any heating concerns.

Good work overall. We used to have to crank our AC to cool our far too hot second story in the summer. The new two zone system is wonderful and energy saving. Work was extensive with new location, ducting, and returns. Small niggles like a misplaced overflow drain were quickly and cheerfully corrected. Also worked out easy financing terms that made to job more affordable for us. Overall a little expensive, but one year on the quality proved worth it.

Jeff the owner came out for the free estimate and made us feel very confident in the company and the work they would be providing. He had several ideas of how we could actually cool our open warehouse work space. Our current unit was working but could not at all adequately cool our building. Jeff gave us numerous estimates and troubleshooted with us to find the best solution for our needs. We also called another company to quote and were only given one option to go with. The workers at JW Heating & Air were great to work with. They did their best to work around our employees with minimum distraction. They were friendly and courteous and did excellent work.
