The technician, Brian, who came to our house was terrific. He was punctual (about 10 minutes early), personable, and incredibly thorough. Our A/C unit is on top of our house and he climbed up there with no problem. He changed our filters, measured the output of the temp, checked our temp gage, opened vents we had no idea were closed, and even went up into our crawl space Our A/C is very old, but he put us at ease with things to do to extend its life and what to do when it breaks. We would definitely use this company again

Everything went excellent. His crew is very good, and he is very reliable. Everything was done well and clean.

JW Heating and Air installed central heat and air in my duplex last year and did a spectacular job. when my client's a/c died just as we got the first major heat wave in LA, i called Jeff and had him come out and give an estimate/bid. As i had to show my client a few bids, JW Heating and Air came in with the best quality equipment at the best price and promised to get the job done immediately. Now a caveat, is that my client is 'demanding' and I'm being very kind with this description. I needed JW H&A to knock this out of the park, and they did!!! There was even a situation where my client (remember he's 'demanding') let me know at 11pm on a Friday (by email which i didn't get until the next morning) that there was some issue with the a/c and to get someone out to the house immediately. I called Jeff, and even though we were in the midst of another heatwave, and it was a Saturday AND all his crews were already scheduled, Jeff made me look like a superstar and got one of his guys out to my clients house. Clearly, i can not say enough great things about them, or thank them enough for being 100% professional, understanding, and first rate. Do yourself a favor and don't even hesitate to use JW Heating and Air.

Our AC system was not working properly: basically, a previous contractor screwed up our AC system so that instead of cooling our house, it cooled the attic and all the dust would spread in the house. So we called JW. Scheduling was fine. For the estimate, they showed up a little late because the previous job took longer, but he was fashionably late. He seemed very honest, explaing what was wrong and not trying to impose jobs we did not need. When JW staff came to do the job, they were very professional and clean. They took care of the problem and we now can enjoy our AC system without being sick the following day. They had to come back the following day because they did not have one of the parts. They showed up when they told us they would and quickly took care of the problem. We did not have to pay one penny more than the estimated price. We will use them again in the fulure.

They were very professional and very organized. They made my mother feel comfortable with something she was not familiar with. They were very informative and responsive and returned calls immediately. I have nothing negative to say about them.

We had three providers come out and J. W. was the most thorough and professional. Others offered piecework repairs, but for the comparative price and outcome, we did much better with the new installation. Jeff, the business owner, did the evaluation. He began by doing a great job explaining how the heating system works, how it is different than the previous way systems worked and helping us decide on a particular brand and model. We were interested in energy efficiency and he was knowledgeable about the choices available. We live near the ocean and don't really need A/C, however, for future resale he helped us insure the furnace is A/C ready. He was able to explain in terms the engineer in our family appreciated and the liberal arts major understood! Because we were ready to go (our furnace had been cited as red tagged, i.e. not safe to operate), and his workmen's schedule opened up, he gave us a very good price and the work began within a day or two. The workmen were just great. They were clean, friendly and efficient. The entry to our attic is through the closet ceiling. They had to remove all the old furnace and ducting and get up all the new materials, working in a small space and traveling through our main foyer and staircase. They did not damage anything, and I can still picture the workman carefully brushing down the wooden stairs with a hand brush to be sure all the residue was gone. It was a 3-day job. Jeff returned to inspect and be sure everything was done to his standards. We are very happy with our furnace. It is quieter and seems to offer better heating in places that were previously more uneven. Jeff adjusted some of the flow vents to improve this. A review of our gas bills shows about a 30% cost savings over the past year.

Technician was right on time with a smile, ready to go to work. He serviced the units in a timely manner and before you knew it the job was done, with everything left as clean as before. I would definitely use them again

I was skeptical of any of the companies that I had dealt with, but Jeff was professional, conscientious, and his team did an excellent job. He was conservative with his estimate, but it turned out to be exact, without any surprises or extra charges. I appreciate his honesty and straightforward nature. Jeff was also extra careful about explaining everything to me.

I understand that summer is busy for heating and air companies but when you fail to show up, fail to call clients and follow up you will eventually lose customers. For the first appointment the serviceman was over an hour late and I had to constantly call asking when he was going to show up. I wish these companies would understand that they owe the customer a courtesy call if they're going to be late... He then said we needed a separate appointment to do the full work. So we called and scheduled. Another two hour window appointment. The appointment time comes... and goes. No show. We had to call several times to find out what was happening. It took hours before we finally got word that the serviceman wasn't coming at all that day. Meanwhile I'm missing hours from my job again. I also recommend that customers get a second opinion. It's a pain. You have to schedule another appointment and take time off work again but the quote we got from JW was incredibly overpriced than what we ended up paying for the final work. Two strikes and you're out.

This was a class act altogether. They were really good. They showed up early. He did a really good job. He was patient, and he took his time. I bought the house earlier this year, so there were no records. He was very patient, and he explained how the system worked, what kind of things could go wrong, and what to look for. He was fantastic. It was a very good experience. I will use him in the future for all of my A/C issues. I would recommend him to anyone. He was worth the money.

Setting up the appointment was a little problematic at first. I did not get the call back as soon as they said I would for scheduling, but that was because there was a new girl on the phones. Once the appointment was set they arrived on schedule and performed the work in a professional manner.

I purchased a a Big Deal for A/C tune up. Prior to buying the deal, I had looked at the company's website to find a list of service area. I was not able to find that information and proceeded with buying the deal. The company called me to say that I am out of their service area and that I need to call Angies List for a refund for the Big Deal. When I asked where I would be able to find this the information on what cities they service, the rep was not able to tell me. I was highly dissatisfied since I spent time and made the effort to find the information in the first place.

I was a $69 special from Angie's List. It was a fair price. They came out and did the service. They showed up when they said they would. It was fine. They were all professional. There was a charge on the Freon that I expected anyway. There was nothing that I didn't like. They were excellent. The service man was genuine and a man of caliber. He kept me informed as far as delays and things like that. I had done my own homework and stuff. I don't use anybody if I don't like them in the first five minutes. If I have a heating or air-conditioning problem in the future I would call them again.

This was a real comedy. We called for an AC inspection which was a special they had for Angie's. The inspection included a filter change in the price. Everyone I spoke with was very polite and the tech who responded was very professional. Here's what happened: 1. I called and set up the service. During the call I gave the sizes for the filters (I have two units). 2. The tech showed up as scheduled. He did not have any filters (was unaware that it was part of the offer) and told me there was an extra charge for the second unit, $69 for the first unit and $99 for the second. 3. During the check the outside heat exchanger fan for one of the units was making noise indicating the bearings were bad. In addition the input line to the compressor was freezing, indicating a low charge or restriction in the system. I got a bid for replacing the fan and pulling a vacuum on the system to try and solve the freezing problem (it was not a low charge). 4 I called and made an appointment for the next step. 5. The tech showed up for the next appointment but was scheduled to do an inspection not the work as ordered. Total mess up. Nothing accomplished. 6. I called to reschedule. 7. They called me to reschedule because they had to order the part. They called the day before they were supposed to come out. 8. They called again to reschedule because there was another appointment that was going to take too long before my appointment. I held firm not to have the timeline extended another week which all the previous appointment changes had done. They put my appointment before the other one to solve the problem. (I do wonder what happened to the other appointment but not my problem). 9. The tech showed up to do the work. Changed the fan but pulling a vacuum did not solve the freezing problem. He offered a work around but the best fix was to replace the inside heat exchanger. He was to work up a quote and have the office call me with it and to schedule an appointment for the work. He also finally replaced my filters. One with the correct size and type, the other... he butchered one that was too big, doubled it over and pushed it in. I could have picked one up at my local Ace but found a better deal at Amazon for a bundle of three. I replaced it myself. 10 I received a call from their accounting department and was informed that I had not paid the $99 for the second AC unit inspection. I didn't have the bills I had paid in my hands so I told her to send me a bill and I would pay it if I hadn't already. I received the bill, they were correct and I paid it. I have not heard from them since, no quote, no schedule; which is strange since the next part of this comedy would be their biggest payday. I work at home but even then I really don't want to have to wait for appointments during the day or have massive reschedules. These people weren't cheap and I did pay when requested, my part of the deal. It seems the only thing the office can get right is the billing. I'm an engineer and have been doing stuff like this for 40+ years. I know it can be done right. Once is chance, twice is a coincidence and three times is a plot (as in a straight line on a graph predicting future occurrences). I'm done with it. Did I mention that everyone was very polite and the tech actually knew his stuff?

I love this company and i am so happy. One zone of my air conditioning stopped blowing any air at all, of course, right before the july 4th holiday. I called one other highly rated company. There service charge was a bunch higher than this company, and when they heard i had 2 zones, they doubled it. Then i looked at all the reports, and company number one was thousands more for same type installations. Not knowing what the heck was wrong, and not wanting to spend $5000 more for the same type work, i called JW. They scheduled me for 2 days later. Came promptly. Nice, respectful texas boy (i love texans!!!) , wore booties for my clean floor, diagnosed the problem quickly, it was an easy fix. (YAY!!!) These people are honest, nice, professional, courteous, comptetent, oh and did i say HONEST. Call them. Now!

I bought the $69 special for A/C tune-up. I normally have Econo-Air do the bi-annual maintenance since I bought the system from them, but they are always trying to sell me additional upgrades and repairs so I thought I would try JW Heating and get a second opinion. The technician came early, did the tune-up quickly and said everything looked fine. When I asked him about the motor which supposedly leaked, or the other things that Econo-Air had suggested, he said the system looked good and didn't need anything. Given that money is tight, I really appreciated being able to not have to worry about spending more money on the A/C system. I will definitely use them for the maintenance in the future.

After purchasing a Angie's Deal to have them service my AC, I hired them to make a series of repairs to the AC system that I knew (in advance of the service) needed to be made. They worked with my schedule, and the whole process from estimate through completed work took about 2 weeks, though it could've been shorter had my schedule been more open. Not only were all the folks I dealt with extremely friendly & professional, but they left the place cleaner than how they found it. While they're certainly not the cheapest, they're still a significant value because of the quality of work and the quality of the client experience.

After having our furance shut-off due to carbon monoxide and the A/C costing almost an extra $200/month in electricity to run, we decided to replace the central heating and air in our 3 bedroom/2 bath Pasadena house. George came by to give us an estimate and alerted us to several things other vendors did not (such as the existing plenum being very restrictive, the questionable routing of the duct work, the need to enlarge the air return, and the benefits of a powered attic ventilator). Although JW was not the lowest bid, they were competitive and based on their customer referrals, Angie's List reviews, and our experience with George, they stood out as the best. After scheduling the work, Mike and Jose showed up promptly, made sure to check things with me if there were problems (landscaping in the way of some componnents, etc.). George also stopped by to check on things. At the end of 2 1/2 days the installation was complete and the difference in the comfort of the house was amazing. Just the attic ventilator and new fan alone have made a substantial difference in keeping things cool. The a/c cools the whole house much more quickly and we have far fewer areas where there is a big temperature differential.

Was very pleased with this experience. Didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. Explained how to keep our energy cost down and our house cool. Nice to have someone take the time, be professional and honest.

I had a maintenance contract with another company. At my annual check-up I was told the furnace's gas exchanger was bad and there was a fire and carbon monoxide risk if not repaired. The furnace was 16 years old and there was abestos in the attic. The repair estimate was around $2,000. I decided rather than to repair the issue and have something else go wrong in a few weeks; it was best to get a new furnance and have the abestos removed at the same time. I also have central air but this was in good condition. I got 3 estimates and JW Air estimate was in the ballpark. I was so impressed with Jeff (the owner) when he came to give his estimate. He told me he values Angie List members and makes it a point to be the one to give them estimates. He walked my house, went into the attic, took pictures, checked out everything and spent so much time with me explaining everything that I immediately felt I was dealing with a professional and trustworthy company. This was important to me because I am a single woman and have had previous experience of being taken advantage of. I researched everything relative to installing a new furnance and had a list of questions but, Jeff covered all my topics without my asking questions!! He presented copies of licenses, certificates, insurance and referrals. He was amendable to doing the work on my schedule and arranged for the abestos removal which I really appreciated not having to deal with another issue. The other 2 companies did not do any of those things! Shawn, Ramon and the crew were amazing! They were prompt, efficient and friendly. These guys worked the whole time they were in my house without a break or lunch. They cleaned up so well after each day that I forgot they were here. Jeff returned after installation to check everything. I am so glad that I chose JW for this project. Now, I just have to wait for it to get cold enough to see how well my new furnance works but feel confident I will not be disappointed.I HIGHLY recommend this company and will refer them to friends and definitely will use them again if I have a need.

They were outstanding. They were on time, prompt, responsive, and they knew what they were doing. They were just outstanding and I would highly recommend them.

They provided same day service within twenty-four hours. I would use their services again in the future.

This was our first maintenance call on our unit since we purchased our house a year ago. We now feel as though we have a much better understanding of our HVAC system and what to expect in the future. A very good experience. We will definitely call them again when necessary.

They were very honest. I hired them for the maintenance special, Big Deal, and they checked the AC and also the heating system as I thought the furnace was part of the deal. Everything worked well.
