On May 17th, 2018 my daughter and I went to Howard's Appliance store to purchase a new washer and dryer. It was delivered 3 days later. During installation the workmen put a hole in the drywall in the garage. At this time, we had not yet received the insurance we had purchased. After washing 3 loads of laundry, we both knew that this was not the washer and dryer for us. I called Howard's and Joseph Lionette said we were told at the time of purchase that there was a 7 day limit on returns. I don't think he told us that at the time of purchase, but he said he did. We called 10 days after we purchased the set. After reading more carefully in the fine print, I noticed that it said if you return merchandise there is a 25% restocking fee. We did agree to this and would purchased the Speed Queen at a higher cost than the original cost. Mr. Lionette told me he though we could work things out. After going to a doctor's appointment, we returned to the store to pay the additional cost between the original purchase and the new purchase of the Speed Queen set. Mr. Lionette said then that they would definitely not take the Maytag set back, but we would contact Upper Management to see what could be done. I continued calling Mr. Lionette and he never returned any of my phone calls. Finally, someone else in the store gave me a phone number to call for the Service Department and told me to speak with "Mann." I called that phone number was told that there was no one name Manny in that department. I believe I was given that information just so I would stop calling the store to speak with Mr. Lionette. We knew at that time that we were not going to be treated fairly so we went ahead and found another appliance store with the Speed Queen set that we wanted and were happy to find that it was at a much better price than what Howard's offered. On the 18th of June, we finally got a phone call back from Howard's saying they would take back the Maytag set if we purchased the Speed Queen set from them. We had already made the purchase at another store. By this time, our faith in Howard's is gone and would not want to purchase anything from them now or in the future. I am 94 years old and this is not how I expect to be treated. Believe me, I gave Joseph Lionette a piece of my mind.
