"Fred and his crew did a fantastic job on my mother-in-law’s sod installation. My wife and I paid for them to install sod in her back yard for Mother’s Day. Everyone else could not do it in the time frame we needed and Fred came through. They will charge you for everything but do great work. They showed up on time and were very professional which is rare in the Monterrey area. I will definitely hire them for our next landscaping job."

"Omar is great.  Reliable, punctual, personable.  He is very versatile and skilled in many areas of home maintenance.  He is very skilled, especially, with electrical work.  He went out of his way to fit me in on a repair at the last minute when I needed him.  Great guy.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

When deciding whether or not to turn off your pump, you should consider your area’s climate and the aquatic life in your pond. If you live in an area with freezing winter temperatures and don’t have any wildlife, keeping your pump on could damage it. If you have aquatic life but live in a colder climate, you might consider keeping your pump running and adding a pond heater.

Because frogs require fresh water for survival, they can die from repeated exposure to swimming pool chemicals. Chlorine dehydrates frogs, which can lead to their deaths. To ensure frogs don’t hang out in your pool for long periods, safely remove them once you spot them in your pool and install a frog log so they can easily hop out on their own.

Costs depend on design, materials, plumbing, labor, and optional lighting or filtration features.

Lifespans vary by material and manufacturer, but pond liners last anywhere from 10 to 75 years. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pond liners have a life expectancy of up to 20 years. Other types of pond liners, including those made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), can last 40 to 50 years.

Like pools, ponds can be a safety risk, so they may increase your homeowners insurance. Be sure to let your insurance company know if you build a pond on your property—they may have safety requirements in order to keep your premium from increasing.
