I had him install can lights in my living room. He and his assistant were very prompt and professional.

They did a great job. They were on time and they never made a big mess. Everything is working great. They were very polite and professional!

They arrived on time and were very friendly. All aspects of the job were checked and they gave me an estimate that I thought was very fair. I said "Let's do it".They began with the bathroom. Not only did they do the new fan and ceiling light, but they had to go up into the attic to run various lines for the job. I had no attic access so they created one for me in a closet right where I wanted it. They finished the bathroom and cleaned up after themselves.Then they started the kitchen lights. That took a couple of hours and again they cleaned up after themselves.The light and fan in the bathroom work great and the kitchen is now much brighter AND energy efficient.I would use Charles Young again (and I will!) and I would recommend them to anyone needing electrical. In addition to good work, they were both very friendly and polite.

This was a very positive experience for me. The finished product was perfect. I would highly recommend Charles and his company to everyone. He is now in my book as my go to guy for any other electrical needs I may have in the future.

Excellent job! Did not try to sell me something I didn't need. Explained things in a simple, concise manner. The guys were on time and always in communication with me. They did not take shortcuts. They finished each task to completion. If there were multiple ways of fixing something I was always given options as to how far I wanted to go budget-wise. I'm really happy with their work and because the house is fairly old (mid 50's) AND it's going to be a rental, I now feel a lot safer. Thanks again!

I called him, scheduled an appointment for two hours of electrical service and he came on time. He did what he could to repair some outlets. After he left, the gas would not come on the stove. I was looking around to find why, and they had de-attached the electrical outlet and left it hanging out of the wall. I called and left message. He called back within 15 minutes. He would send out someone to fix it. This wasn't a horrendous experience, just inconvenient for them to not finish from the beginning.

Charles and his assistant arrived on time and got to work promptly. The job required equipment and services beyond the original order, and they needed to access the attic. Charles quoted a reasonable price, and I agreed. The additional work required moving some shelving units, and they assisted without being asked. They worked quickly and purposefully, no wasted movements. They took reasonable measures to keep my home clean and offered to vacuum afterwards, whick I declined.

They had a special thing going. For just $99 they did 2 hours of work. He was awesome. He was so sweet and kind. They fixed the problem right away. They had a plaque to go on the wall to cover the hole for the electricity. He was so thoughtful, kind, and dear. After he was done, he said "I have only been here an hour, you have a another hour to use". I said "I need a ceiling done in my bedroom". He said "I can't do that in an hour. I can give you an estimate and we will give you a discount price as an Angie's List customer."

Charles is very knowledgable and very honest. He took his time and found problems that needed to be fixed.

In order to run a pump to circulate the hot water, an outlet was needed in the closet where the hot water heater is located. In addition, we wanted an outlet located in the hallway so that a vacuum cleaner could be used. The second outlet was more difficult, because a line needed to be dropped through the wall. Both were installed within the allotted time.

One circuit had been out for over a week. We saw the $99 Angie's List Big Deal special. Despite being booked, he came over the next day, on a Saturday, with his brother. It turned out one circuit was a super easy to fix. The other circuit that goes to our outside lights took more effort. Charles isolated the outside leg of the circuit and recommended that we install a switch to power the lighting at a future date. We will see how the next rain comes, but it looks like it should work. Overall, it was a very good experience.

We used an Angie's special rate to have two ceiling fans installed. It was painless!! I called for an appointment and received one within three days! We had the fans, and Charles and his helper put them together, took down the old fans, installed the new ones and cleaned up. It was great! They were very prompt and professional. I would use this service again!

Superb !!! How's that for a review? Charles Young Electric did a superior job, were punctual, responsive, very neat and clean and offered a great price. Was there a problem... Yup.... there almost always is with any work. But, it was immediately resolved to our complete satisfaction. This is the whole reason for Angie's List.... and I would recommend anyone use Charles Young for any electrical work they need. I will definitely be calling for the next phase of our electrical work when the fixtures arrive .

Mr. Young and his assistant Marcus arrived on time. They assessed the situation and worked in a professional and efficient manner. We were extremely happy with the result, and would recommend this company to anyone needing competent electrical work done. They were responsive to questions regarding possible future electrical work in our home, and provided us with very useful information.

My mom left a number of unfinished home projects due to ill health. I needed to get them completed and one of the big projects was finishing up the electrical in the great family room. I had Charles out at Christmas time to complete the outdoor electrial outlets. He did a great job and kept it under budget that he was the first person I called for this job. Charles was able to review the wiring and complete the installation of the whole house fan, installed boxes in the cathedral ceiling and made me feel the job was done professionally and at a price I could afford. I have him coming back with an Angie's deal to install the ceiling fans. I can't wait to use the updated room.

They were very polite and professional and did an excellent job in a timely manner. They cleaned up very well when they were finished.

The first visit he assessed what I wanted to have done and gave me an estimate to do the work. They removed the old lights that were no longer functional, set a time to return. They arrived when scheduled and went ahead completing all of the work without a break. They were cordial and professional and able to do what I wanted.I am just so very happy with my new light bars and the installations.

It went well. They did run into a snag installing in the second bathroom but took it in stride without complaint. They cleaned up afterwards as well. Great guys to work with and I would hire again.

Much as I would love to give this contractor a good review, in this case it wouldn't be deserved. I hired him to figure out some wiring that had been disconnected and that I couldn't figure out to reconnect. Apparently neither could he, but he showed up and acted very confident that he knew it all. Until he said that I had an "over voltage" situation where my incoming feed from SMUD was reading over 120 volts. Turned out to be a low battery on his meter. He had me really panicked until I used my meter to correct his diagnosis. I have subsequently found out that the wiring job he did is wrong. I turn off my dishwasher breaker now and I lose both kitchen GFCI circuits in addition. That was not the case prior to his doing the wiring. I've subsequently had it fixed by another electrician so it's not just my opinion that the job was done wrong. The good thing was that there was not really a potential for a fire hazard. The bad thing was...well, an electrician charging those rates should either not do the job, or should at least have verified that it's right. Had he turned off the breakers one at a time after doing the wiring, and checked what had power and what didn't; the problem would have surfaced. I feel bad in these tough economic times that I have to rate someone like this, but I feel even worse that I've had to now pay two electricians to get the job done right. In fairness, he was prompt, and seemed like a nice guy. He did wire some under-cabinet lighting as well that seems to be done correctly.

I purchased a special 2 hours for $99.00 on Angie's List to have some electrical and upgrades done The 2 gentlemen came and did those plus I asked about an outside electric outlet on front exterior--which they did, it was extra but well worth it. I was very pleased with work done and will definitely use this company for all electric work in the future. They were very professional and very pleasant and nice to be around.

I bought a Angie's List Special for $79.00 for 2 hours of Electrical work. The job was simple, but, of course, turned into a more complex job. Charles and his assistant (sorry, I forget his name) were super. They took what was a major problem and turned it into a well finished job. The amount he charged for extra work was more than reasonable, and, the overall experience was so good I asked him to bid on another electrical job we're going to do in the future. Both men had great personalities and worked hard their entire stay. Communication was excellent, price more than fair, and work accomplished very professionally.
