Val d Taylor CPA

Val has been my CPA for about 15 years.  His services have been limited to:  (a) yearly preparation of federal and state tax returns; (b) tax planning; (c) business advice concerning my sole proprietorship; (d) family financial matters.  
I have never had a single question or dispute regarding my tax returns.  Previously, when I prepared my own returns (I am an attorney), I always made errors in computations; misunderstood tax laws; or failed to complete forms in an acceptable fashion.  
His prices have always been more than fair.  He has made himself available at short notice for "crisis" planning as special, and potentially worrisome, family/business accounting questions have arisen.  His staff is cheerful and competent.  His office is convenient, modestly yet neatly appointed, and invariably tidy and organized.  [He always has a dish of small chocolates which I enjoy.]
Relatively recently, he partnered with Mr. Galyan, a younger but no less competent CPA with significant experience.  Together, they are capable of handling all my business matters in a swift, professional, and discrete fashion.  I recommend them without reservation.
The firm's honor and integrity has been absolutely unimpeachable.  Returns are always prepared on time (even though I am often somewhat late in supplying critical data); forms have always been perfectly completed; staff is always ready to explain and complete final IRS paperwork for electronic filing.  
I simply cannot imagine going to anyone else for my accounting work.  I do NOT presume that the price charged for my very simple returns would be applicable to any other client.  Frankly, I feel I'm undercharged.  However, since I retired at the end of last year, I do not expect any substantial increase in the price of future returns.  Generally, modest questions are answered by phone or e-mail without charge.  In office visits for consultations are charged at a reasonable rate--I do not know what that current rate might be.

TAXES: I prepare yearly summaries of all my and quot;business in the homeand quot; expenses. Val consults with me as to the complex rules concerning the validity of all possible claimed deductions. He then proceeds to prepare state and federal tax returns for my wife and myself. I have NEVER had a problem with regard to any of his submissions.







ADVICE: Periodically, I consult with Val about the prudence of some economic proposal--an investment, a course of action for my home business, federal benefit programs (e.g. Social Security) and the like. I receive trustworthy advice which has never steered me wrong. Val examines all possible aspects of my question and we jointly explore options and potential challenges.







TIMELINESS: Appointments can be arranged easily, BUT FOR TAX SEASON, when I simply drop off my rough work.







PRICES: I believe the charges to be more than fair.







STAFF: All staff members are courteous and professional. It is really a kind of and quot;family atmosphereand quot;.
