. For the weekly lawn service ($100.00 per month), he only mowed and edged. When I asked him why he didn't blow the leaves out of the empty flowerbeds, he said he didn't have time and it wasn't worth it to him for $100.00 per month. When I told him that every gardener I had ever had was at least a mow, blow and go. He got very angry and started yelling at me and told me not to compare him to them because he had knowledge. I told him that I paid extra for the knowledge and expected the blowing of the leaves to go with the lawn care service. He said he didn't want to argue and that he could leave now or work until the end of the month. I told him to work until the end of the month so that I could find someone else. He and his wife were at my home 15 minutes or less and hurried to his next client. He wasn't interested in picking up new clients and was only doing this for extra money since he was retired. He told me that he couldn't do one extra job for 4-6 weeks because he had an engine on a car to work on.
I hired the lawn service of one of my neighbors who is mowing, edging and blowing for $80.00 per month. I told him when I got bushes put in, we could renegotiate for him to trim those also.
Lawn always looks good, green, neat and tidy. Some occasional issues with weeds but they do their best with what ever chemical is still legal in the state of California. They always lock my gate, again nice. Have on occasion repaired my sprinklers with good quality parts at a fair price. Cost, as they are actually licensed the cost is a touch on the high side as they find it hard to compete and make a living as a legitimate business, not some passer-by pick-up with lawn mower.
Good service and value overall, however if price is the deciding factor you might look at another quote at the expense of quality.
