met with owner at his office to discuss what would be the best layout for a backyard (I had pics of yard) with respect to minimal water usage and still provide a beautiful setting. owner came to our home and after looking at backyard sketched out a possible layout of plants, trees and flowers. We had several meetings at his business to fill in the details with respect to plants and details of what would be done by his company. The price for the job including vegetation, and fountain, etc was fairly steep with respect to what we wanted to spend but based on recommendations from others we went with his company. Work was scheduled to begin 3rd week of July, and as promised his crew showed up to begin the job. Work included weed removal and loosening backyard soil, extending the house patio into the backyard a bit, trenching for watering system to each plant and tree, layout of a gravel walkway which would meander around the backyard area, installation of fountains, etc. Once this was done the plants/trees were brought in and before they were planted they were arranged in their proposed location for us to evaluate. The locations were approved and the planting was completed. finally a few garden lights were strategically added. Believe me it was a beautiful sight when completed,just as the company had proposed. I'm listing a few other positive points of this company.

1. The crews were always on time, even the subcontractors that were used for certain aspects of the job.

 2.the individual workers whom I spoke with at varying times were polite and did their best to explain what they would do.

3. The company layed out the tasks to complete the work and as each was finished we made a payment.

4. There were times when we asked for occasional changes to the plan and they accommodated us with no complaints.

5. Since my wife and I were not always at the house they adjusted their schedule to correlate as to when we were there to view the progress.

I could go on about the wonderful job done by Monji Landscaping but I'll cut off here.

Our original intention was to use pavers, but Mike suggested concrete slab as a less expensive option. He designed a pleasing, curved shape to fit our existing landscaping. We elected to have a faux granite finish and are very pleased.
The crew arrived on the appointed day and worked quickly and unobtrusively as they could (no loud music, etc.) They relocated some sprinkler piping, formed, poured and finished the patio,set up drip irrigation for the new shrubs, and left the area clean and ready for use. Before the slab was oiured, we had them add an underground drain for the downspout and the price was reasonable.
Two azaleas did not survive the summer and were replaced under warranty upon request.
The patio is nicer than our original concept and we are pleased with it.
I will probably use Monji's services again.

We have used Monji Enterprises in the past and always found them to be timely, professional and to do excellent work. This project was no exception. They are busy -- you may have to wait a while for your project to be completed. And they are not necessarily the least expensive folks in town. However, the work they do is worth waiting for and when determining cost -- you get what you pay for! With Monji, you pay for excellence and you get it. I would and have recommended Monji to anyone needing outside work at their residence or business. This particular project was a small one. In the past, Monji designed and installed a pool at our home and turned our back yard into a beautifully landscaped oasis. Again -- excellent!!!

Things with Monji Enterprises went very well. It all looks great. We may use them again. They did a fantastic job. It was worth it. We have lived here 30 years and this is the first year we didn't have any flooding.

Over-priced, poor quality plants, poor quality low voltage lighting - lowq end of what you would buy at Home Depot for which we paid a very high price, difficult to get business to come back under warranty.

I used them a year ago, but I don't remember how much it cost. My overall experience was very good. They were responsive and professional.

Monji is simply the BEST!! Eliseo is fabulous as well as all of their workers. They are professional & completely review EXACTLY what you want accomplished with their services. They provide a porta-potty & bring all of their necessary equipment needed to complete the job. About four years ago, we had the ENTIRE backyard landscaped with an urn fountain & a waterfall. Our backyard looks like a fabulous resort so when we go in the backyard, I feel as if I am on vacation!! Their services are well worth it and when you expect the best, you will pay more for PERFECTION. A fabulous investment we will enjoy for years to come & has added GREAT VALUE to our home.

Eliseo responded to our call and came over three times before the contract was signed. He brought a representative form the Pergola mfg. to review his original estimate and design. Planters were courteous and quick. Pergola erectors were fast and quite. They did have to return to replace a damaged column at no extra cost.
