I became a member where you pay so much a month and they will inspect your heating and air conditioning at no additional charge. They basically charge you up front and you end up getting 10% off.
The unit is fabulous. They are very, very helpful. They came out and gave me a free tuneup. They spent time with me showing me how to set the thermostat. They told me if I had any other problems to give them a call and they would come out. They are coming out very soon to tune it up for the summer time for the annual inspection.

"Angie's List got back to me with the correct name and address for this account. According to our records, we replaced a run capacitor in December 2016 for $175. In January 2017 your blower motor went bad. The blower motor would not be under warranty because it is not the same repair. We charge everyone a trip charge of $49 to come out. However, the owner forgave the balance of $49 for the call out in January in an attempt to resolve this misunderstanding."

"Good Morning Mr. [Member Name Removed], Our technician removed registers, cleaned ducts with power brush vacuum. Cleaned evaporative coil and blower wheel. We did refund you $200.00 to pay for a cleaning service for the excessive dust that was left behind. Sincerely, The Gundlach's Team"

"I want to apologize for the error that was made in entering your Comfort Club Membership into the computer system. It was indeed entered under your primary residence when it should have been entered under your rental location. We do have well over 600 Comfort Club Members in our system and even though we strive to do our very best, we did indeed make an error here. I have left you a voicemail and would like to resolve this issue if you would give of the chance to do so. If not, I truly do understand."
And accomplishing all that was not an easy.
When the work started, I was called out of town for a family emergency. Since I couldn't be at the house to let the workers in, Gundlach's accommodated my husband's early morning work schedule by showing up at our house at 6:15 am!
We needed a new water heater. We had no idea that our old water heater that sat on a wooden platform (the gas flame only inches away from the wood) was a fire hazard. Gundlach's not only installed the new water heater but brought it up to code, putting it on a metal base.
They also installed a new air conditioning/heating unit on our roof. We had had Gundlach's out to service the old unit a few months previously when we had no heat one day. They didn't have to, but they deducted the cost of the previous service call from the cost of the work they did this time!
Once Gundlach's sealed the attic we noticed an immediate difference in the "draftiness" of our house. However, we still needed insulation added to the attic.
We had our roof replaced 5 years ago. When Gundlach's came in to do the energy assessment, they took pictures of the inside of our attic. The roofer had not put in the insulation he had promised. It was severely lacking -- we could see 4 inches of the wooden joists throughout the attic that should have been completely covered with insulation. (The insulation was only about 4 inches deep. It looked like the original insulation from when the house was built 43 years ago.) Gundlach's agreed to work with our original roofer (meaning they would be making about $800 less) so that he could come in and put in the insulation that he should have 5 years ago when he put on the new roof. The roofer came to the house, saying he'd make it right and put in more insulation. After that, Gundlach's went into the attic and took more pictures. The roofer did not do as promised -- the wood still wasn't covered. In fact, many areas showed that there wasn't even any indication that any new insulation had been put in at all. We called the roofer out again and the same story -- he promised to fix it, but didn't. We finally called Gundlach's back and asked them to do the job. The pictures now clearly show the insulation Gundlach's put in covered the entire attic and is now 16 inches deep. (Evidenced by the measuring sticks they permanently attached throughout the attic to show insulation depth.)
Working with the roofer (who was NOT associated with Gundlach's) frankly cost Gundlach's additional time and grief. But they did it without complaint and then, when the roofer did not come through, Gundlach's made it right.
How much more can you ask from a company???!!!
They don't just do the job, they make sure it's done with quality and excellence.

I really appreciated Gundlach's quick response, and the professional, competent repair.
It should be noted that there is a $49 service call fee, which is not included in the repair price. At this time, there is a coupon available online at their website which will waive that fee.
