A year after solar install, attempted to call their main line (661) 836-3880 for Bland Solar Bakersfield. No one answers the phone and voice mailbox is full. Had texted through chat website a while back to troubleshoot my Enphase Gateway not communicating and to schedule technician. Took them 1 week to respond and said next technician availability is 1 month out. Pretty disappointed with the after sales customer service. 👎👎👎

I learned a valuable lesson, make sure you get everything in writing before signing anything, do not trust any oral statements. I was told by salesman at least twice my total (all in price) included taxes however that was not true, we had to come up with additional $560 for taxes. When this was brought to salesman attention it was basically “so sad to bad”, we signed contract therefore you pay. I understand but feel they were dishonest, I personally will not recommend Bland.

Had the BEST service EVER! Called at 2:30 p.m. on a Thursday looking for an appointment and was given a between 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. the same day. Now when does that ever happen, I was stoked. Technician arrived in the window given to me and he was professional, well spoken and knowledgeable. Technician (Edger) completed the job and was on his way. Will definitely use BLAND A/C & Heating again and won't hesitate to recommend to family & friends. Excellent company where the professionalism and courtesy goes from Receptionist to Technician and on to upper Management.

Dan the Solar Man (with Bland) came and did the sales call presentation then recommended 42 panels and a main panel upgrade at a cost of almost $40k, yikes! Let me also say that we have a house that was not insulated very well and we have a special needs child that requires a constant temperature because her body thermostat doesn't work well. So, we have to run the A/C a lot resulting in high PG&E bills. We have added a lot of insulation to the attic so our demand should be reduced significantly now. That being said, we probably have more panels than we'll need going forward but hopefully that will let us balance up with a credit at the end of the year. The service panel definitely needed to be replaced & upgraded. Once the confusion over financing was resolved it took a couple of weeks before the installation started. The installation crew led by a guy named John took a little over a week to be installed due to it being placed on our house and my workshop so that was reasonable on the time. They were typical Contractors with some lack of clean-up issues (we just had a 5-month remodel performed with the same problem) we'd had before so I guess that's to be expected. The panels and support system look pretty clean and we only have 1 row of panels facing the street (east side of house) so it's not overwhelming like some installations I've seen. My Wife would say I'm pretty anal about cleanliness and doing a "clean" installation because that is the way I always insisted that jobs be done when I was a supervisor before I retired. I'd give the crew a B+ for the panel & wiring install. They had a different technician do the panel upgrade and their work was ok but I was not very satisfied with the stucco patching repairs, paint, or looks of the modifications to our external conduit tie-ins. I ended up having to scrape off the sloppy stucco and touch up most of the exterior paint around the panel install. Fortunately, the house exterior was recently painted so I had extra paint. I'd give them a B on panel install and a D on finish work. About 3 weeks after the installation was done (we were making solar power during this time) they finally got the Building Inspector here and realized that the main breaker needed to be downsized so there was another 2-week delay in signing off that phase of the project and another shutdown from PG&E. Now, after another week and a half, the final Inspector sign-off was today. But now they've realized that I won't be able to monitor my whole system because another box needs to be installed on my workshop because our internet router doesn't have enough signal strength out there (another delay on being finished) so they need to come out and install an additional box to enable full system monitoring. So, in summation, materials and panels used I'd give a grade of A, planning and timely execution of the work - C, workmanship - B-, cost of the system - seemed kind of high. Overall grade about a B-. I'd been encouraged by all of the reviews that I'd read but in hindsight I probably should have shopped around a little more and verified the timeline for installation a little better. I would give Bland a fair recommendation but like I said, you may want to shop around a little before making the commitment.

It went very well, they were professional and did an amazing job. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done correctly. Were punctual and easy to contact with questions after the completion of the job.

Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable, and the job was done neatly. The only draw back was we did have to call a few times to find out exactly when things would be started. We were always called back quickly. I just thought they should have called us when there was a few weeks that we didn't know what was happening with getting things started. Dan the Solar Man was great at getting the answers for us. All the guys who installed everything were polite and each one always introduced themselves. We have only had it up and working a short time but we are producing more than enough electricity. I would defiantly use Bland again

Excellent work, professional, polite crew. Two day job, crews punctual. The system performs better than the computer estimates provided by Bland Solar. Bland has a very nice showroom, you can see the different types of panels installed on different roofing materials. Easy people to deal with ! ! ! Very much satisfied with our solar panel installation and performance.

Went very good, heater works great so far. With summer coming will get to check how well the new AC unit is working and if it will save me money. My sales rep was awesome, and very professional so if you need to speak to someone ask for Tony.

I dropped in without an appointment, to inquire about a system.  I was immediately greeted and introduced to a representative.  He explained all aspects of the the system and answered all of the questions I had at the time.  After the first visit I called and emailed him numerous times with additional questions.  He was very patient and made it a seamless experience. Once the financing was secured I expected to wait 2 to 3 weeks for installation.  I received a call the following week to schedule an appointment for installation.  The installation crew began on the next day and by Friday morning it was up and
running.

The system is very clean with NO conduit on the roof.  My HOA was even impressed with the appearance.  It was wired into my existing electrical panel so there is no additional equipment attached to the house.   I couldn't be more pleased.

My old A/C unit was over 20 hears old. I was never able to get it under 80 degrees in the summer, even running it full blast. I decided to call Bland. Mahlon Davis was my sales rep. He is really easy to get along with and is pretty knowledgeable about all of the products. They ended up demolishing my old AC and furnace, and replaced it with a newer, more energy efficient unit. They resealed all the duct work in the attic (apparently, one of the ducts were crushed by someone who had previously been up there). They even increased the size of the return duct so the unit wouldn't be starved for air. Also, they installed a Nest Learning Thermostat (which is pretty cool). All in all, my house now cooler than its ever been. I'm also using significantly less energy to cool my house. I've been tracking my PG&E usage daily since I installed the unit, and I'm using almost half as much energy to cool my house. I would highly recommend Bland.

Originally, we were just going to do solar, but after Bland came out and realized we had a 20 year old AC unit, they discussed the benefits of getting a newer system, and that it would allow us to require less solar panels.
Since our system has been up and running, it has consistently produced more kilowatt-hours than designed for. My system produces about 850 kWh per month. It is working out perfectly for our two story home.

When we had our consultation, they told us our old unit was not big enough for our home. We had been told this by other companies and a neighbor who worked on air conditioners. That's where we started, purchasing an appropriately fitting unit. When they installed the new unit, they found that our old one had not been installed properly by the tract installers. Our system was pulling in HOT garage air in the summer and COLD garage air in the winter, therefore having to work extra hard. They had to fix that mess. They also discovered our hot water heater platform was broken so they built supports for that. There was also insulation in the area where our old unit was pulling in the garage air, thus possibly pulling in tiny pieces of fiberglass. This, too, was corrected. This was an all day process. They started at 0730 and ended about 5 or 6PM. They still have to finish hooking up the heating portion, but that will be done next week.
All the workers were great with our dogs also. We have 2 dogs and they got to know them, petted them and didn't seem to mind when the dogs came to check on the progress!
