German Roofing

After calling German Roofing for an appt., Manuel showed up on schedule to provide an estimate and give a "start date". He inspected the entire tile roof and provided a detailed description and location of problems. The estimate was broken into two tasks: 1, clear roof of debris, replace broken tiles, mortar joints, seal penetrations, estimate was $780.00, 2., repair 500 sqft. area, remove felt, battens replace bad plywood, and a lot more; including 10yr warranty. Manuel provided Cellphone photos showing damages and area. Estimate was $1680.00. Shocked, I said I would call in a.m. for confirm and schedule. After Manuel departed I and my son went to check the areas identified. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT...my initial inspection was "sad". I saw everything Manuel noted, saw the potential for attic and interior damages if nothing done, and confirmed the next day. The team headed by Carlos, showed on schedule and went right to work...which was estimated to take 2 days. I REGRET IT HAS TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO PROVIDE A "REVIEW" FOR GERMAN ROOFING...THEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB and I've been smiles all winter and into the "monsoon season", daring it to rain!!!

They were quick and did an exceptional job. Took a little longer due to weather conditions but that was not their fault.

It went really well. They did a fast and neat job. However, when the workers moved my evaporator cooler on my roof, they apparently caused damage to the base of it. I did not notice it for months, until I set it up for summer. When filling it with water, it leaked. Would be nice if they fixed it.

We were living abroad and the person who was managing our house hired German Roofers to address ongoing leaks. We were told that we did not need to replace the roof and that German Roofing could prevent leaks by repairing cracks. The charge was approximately $5,000 and they provided a two-year warranty. In that two years, we had three leaks. German Roofing did honor their warranty and came back to "repair" in the three sections where there were leaks (each time telling us that it was not covered by the warranty but that they would repair it anyway?). Now we are back and I interviewed five companies I found on Angie's List about repairing or replacing our roof. I was told by several that we simply needed to re-coat the roof. One of these companies has just completed this work for $8,500 and is providing a 10-year warranty. I'm much more confident in this company and believe that we will not have leaks (I will update if we do), but I think a comparison between the cost/warranty of each company and our experience speaks for itself. FWIW, several of the companies I interviewed commented on the shoddy quality of "repair" that had been done on the roof (by German Roofing). In part, I'm sorry to write this review because the German Roofing repair guys are polite and pleasant, but, in the end, I feel the money we spent with this company was a complete waste of money (and each leak after their original repair caused damage inside my house) and I wanted to share this information with other potential customers.

The roof itself seems fine, but they left a lot of debris after the job was done. Still finding random nails on the ground months later.

Great, did it the day they came to give an estimate

The repairs were completed as promised and the results were exceptional. Not only was the area where the damage finished to the original condition but I noted that several tiles that were broken well away from the damage site were replaced and extruding nails hammered back in. We had a drip edge that was also replaced but there was a misunderstanding in completing the work. German roofing came out shortly after contacting them and made the changes without complaint or additional cost. This is the best roofing company experience I've had and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a new roof or roof repairs.

Everything went very well. They came out and inspected the roof and did some repairs then gave an estimate to complete the rest of the work. When I scheduled them to come back for the final repairs there was a hiccup when they did not show on the day scheduled but when I called they answered promptly and explained what happened. The next time they came out it was on time and everything was completed to my satisfaction.

He only spent few minutes in fixing the water leak. Then give me a estimated cost to fix the problem, which is $10,000.

We hired from my friend refers this company. Replace all tile roof, it went well. $12000, the first offered. We asked some discount.

They were prompt and finished on time. They cleaned up during the process and after completed. Very pleased with the price and work!

Fine....then determined I needed bird proofing roof tile replacements (broken or missing) and a section of roof repapered due to birds....additional cost of $1600

Actual roof work went well. There was an issue with communication when the skylight ordered wasn't ready and they did't let me know that they wouldn't be coming until the next day. The issue was resolved and the work was completed in a professional manner and within the time frame I needed it.

My master bedroom window started leaking and after getting the window caulked I was told that it was most likely my roof. As it was over 24 years old I started getting quotes and most contractors recommended a complete replacement because of the condition of the tar paper under the ceramic tiles. German Roofing had the lowest quote which at first concerned me but the reviews on Angies List were many and all very good. Their quote included EVERYTHING - most contractors had a clause that stated any wood replacement would cost extra. German roofing replaced 3 sheets of plywood and some wood trim at no additional cost. They even painted the wood trim for me - perfectly matching my house color. Their office staff was very professional and quick to responds to any concerns or questions I had. They did a great job of cleaning up every day and at the end of the job. I very much would recommend them to anyone needing a repair or replacement.

German Roofing took care of our roof issues in a professional and timely manner. They repaired/replaced all the items listed on the report and did a great job. I received an estimate for a total roof replacement that did not address the repair. They generally ignored my request.

Some trouble scheduling the initial inspection. Then once that was done scheduled the actual work. They were a no show and no call. The next day i emailed the office and they called and rescheduled for the next Frid or Sat. They showed up on Sat, late in the day. Almost all of the work was in areas that I couldn't see what they were doing except the once area that I called about that needed the tile replacement. They were supposed to inspect/replace the wood and felt then replace the tile. The one area I could see them doing the work they only re glued the tile, nothing with the wood or felt plus they were supposed to screen it in to prevent birds from nesting there. When the final inspection was done they said that the areas that were worked on that I couldn't see were done right and the one area I could see was not done completely. I have no way of verifying this info so have to trust them. They came back and re did the one area it was re inspected and I was told all the work was now correct. Seems suspicious to me what I can see them do is wrong but what I can't see them do is right.

Work was performed as expected. Original quote was revised to include additional work that was necessary to properly complete job. Pricing for additional work was reasonable. Communication with company was clear and without issues.

German roofing did a great job. 1 year later no problems and no complaints.

Inspection only took about 10 minutes which I thought was a little too quick. I also was hoping that they might clean out the gutters while they were up there. I'm really not sure if they found something wrong that they would have repaired it during the inspection. Sealer application seemed fine but whether or not it was a good price or not I'm not sure.

Estimate process was fine. When work was due to begin the crew did not show up after paying 50% down. I called the office when they were about two hours late asking where they were. They reached out to the crew and the crew told them they had a flat tire I would arrive within an hour. I was told about once an hour the crew was an hour away all day, the crew no showed day one of work, but kept 50% down. The crew arrived the next day, there were clearly no new tires on any of their equipment. While the crew was here they were messy, leaving plastic bottles and soda cans in my front and backyard. Along with old shingles, nails, and staples. Our dog was cut on pieces of metal and pieces fell into our pool the crew did not pick up. Most days the crew only worked 3 to 4 hours per day. It was my understanding in the estimate process they would be working a full day until the job is completed. The crew also played loud music while working disturbing our neighbors. Once the work was completed the outcome was fine and stayed true to the estimate, however the customer experience and getting the job completed was horrible. If the crew worked a full day the job is completed several days sooner.

Excellent! I ended up having the roof replaced by German Roofing (it was a very old roof). Everyone was very professional and pleasant. I am very pleased and German Roofing receives my highest recommendation!

Manuel began the tune up and halted it when he determined the extent of the damage and need for repair. He showed us photos and clearly explained the repairs needed. The repair crew labored throughout an extremely hot day; and saw the job through to completion after their electric compressor "blew" and they had to switch to manually nailing the new materials in place !! While the exterior repair work was going on, Ismael did a fantastic job inside, replacing, plastering, and painting drywall sections in the bath that had been affected by the interior leaks. Manuel returned a few days later to inspect the crew's repairs and complete the original "tune up" process. Of course we showed off the interior too. It was a huge help not to have to find a different contractor to make the interior repairs; and we doubt anyone else could have done as good a job as Ismael. Overall, we're very pleased with the work done, and also want to acknowledge the office staff who were extremely pleasant and helpful. We're happy to recommend the folks at German Roofing to other homeowners!

They installed a complete new roof. It was a lot of money, by comparable to what others wanted.
