German Roofing

They were running a little late and called earlier to inform me of this. It worked out to my benefit. He was professional and showed me pictures of some of the trouble areas. Gave me the estimate and explained exactly what each line item entailed.

Went very well. Manuel was prompt after my initial call, coming the next day I believe. The estimate was fair compared to other companies and what they were offering. Some companies even charged a percent fee to use a credit card which just adds to the already high cost, German Roofing did not charge any fees. Diana at their office was very easy to work with and promptly returned my calls as well as promptly provided receipts via email after the initial 50% payment was taken and the final 50% payment was taken. I booked the repair around middle of February and the repair took place between March 23rd and 26th. I am not sure if this is the normal amount of time to wait from initially booking the service to when it was performed, thankfully we only had a few days of rain during that time. I was given an estimate of 5-6 days to complete, they were done in 4, a crew of 5-6 guys, working from 7:00 am to 5 PM. They kept my front and backyard clean, free of debris for the most part. I was expecting them to come with a large trash container or something, but initially they stacked all of the old underlayment, battens and debri in one of my roof's valleys. They eventually moved it all to a tarp that was laying in my front yard. Not a big deal, things just got really dusty in my front and back yard but they cleaned it up as best they could. I would definitely recommend German Roofing to anyone having to take the plunge of getting their tile roof repaired. I looked at a few different companies both on Angie's List and referrals from friends. German roofing was by far the most reasonably priced for what they offered. Believe the reviews, these guys are good at what they do.

German Roofing was very responsive to my request & scheduled the estimate for the following Monday. The estimator arrived at the house when scheduled, and provided a written estimate on the spot. A typed proposal was emailed out to me a few days later. The estimate was very thorough, and I was given a number of opportunities to discuss the proposal and have any questions answered. We received three quotes for the job, and German's proposal was extremely competitive. It was honestly a "toss up" - and I am sure German would have done an excellent job. We will likely be needing our patio roof replaced in the coming years, and I will certainly reach back out to German at that time.

They were very prompt and actually bent over backwards to try to get out here within the time frame that we had. We would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Everything went as scheduled. We were informed when there would be a very slight delay. Workers were nice to our dog! Debris was cleaned up every day.

They started in November time frame and then because of weather, they ended up finishing up in January. They did great. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. We had rain and they had to come cover up our roof. Even though they covered it up, we had a little bit of a leak and the ran right over and took care of things. The guys that were here worked literally from sun up to sundown without stopping. These guys were on top of it. They came back and did final checks. They came back and did a cursory check. They went up on the roof and checked out some things. There were things that needed to be done. They came back out very quick and fixed it all up. They got it all take care of. There's no decrements.

We had several leaks prior to this repair over the past 3 years with temporary repairs by a previous roof repair company, these repairs did not stop the leaks. We requested an estimate from German Roofing, 2 estimators arrived on time for their appointment, provided us with a complete list of estimated work to be done. We accepted their estimate. The work was performed as follows over 1600 sf of roof area. Remove tile from repair area then set aside, reinstall tile after repair, unless broken, then replace. Remove felt and remove and replace battens in repair area. Remove and replace bad plywood as needed in repair area. Install new #40 underlayment over tile repair area. Remove and replace rolled roofing from around A/C unit and behind chimney in repair area. Remove and replace channel metals in repair area as needed. Remove and replace, or repair pipes and roof jacks as needed in repair area. Install ridge and hip enclosures as needed in repair area. Remove and replace broken tiles in remaining roof section. Seal all penetrations, haul away debris and keep yard clean. The two German Roofing men who came were on time, worked hard, and kept everything clean. They had all the materials that they needed and damaged nothing. The work was estimated to take 3 days and that's what it took. The owner came on the final day to review all the work, took pictures and confirmed with me that the work was completed. Until the next heavy rainfall I won't know if there are any leaks but we have a 5 year warranty and I feel confident that German Roofing will stand behind their work.

I had a piece of tile fall off my roof at the peak and had no idea how to repair it. I contacted the company that had installed the roof 9 years ago. They gave me a price so high that no one would pay it just to replace a single tile. Supposedly the cost was I lived in Pinal County and not Maricopa County. I contacted German Roofing and was treated with respect, they kept in touch with me regarding the job that needed to be done. There was a slight problem finding a similar tile and they did a lot of searching for the piece and always stayed in touch with us. Jose came out on the scheduled day and in the scheduled time frame. He completed the job in a timely manner he was a real professional I would also like to commend Dianna on her handling of my issue, she also was very thoughtful and professional. If I ever need a complete roof or a serious repair they would be who I would call.

They did a great job. Manuel came by the next day to make sure everything was done right.

So German Roofing was not my first choice. I tried to get Lyons out there because they had a high rating here. Wow that was a mistake - they were terrible. They did not answer calls and when I pressed for a quote after visiting the house, they quoted a whole re-roofing for $5200.00. Mind you there were no leaks! Anyway found a nice review of German being honest and I gave them a chance. So glad I did. They were very busy but they did show up when they promised for both the quote and the service. There was no chasing folks down for a quote. The price was extremely fair and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Roof is perfect again. Thanks German Roofing!

It went quite well. I got an appointment rather quickly, and they checked the roof on schedule.

I was very impressed with job done in completing the repairs, they arrived exactly on time and did not stop working until they left and the site was spotless when they departed. Very professional, answered all my questions and offered suggestions on maintaining the roof. I will hire them in the future for my roofing needs.

The integrity of the roofing was good but they weren't upfront about other work that needed to be done and costs.

They came for an estimate on October 18. They finally send me an email on November 20th with the estimate and a picture that is so poor quality that I couldn't tell if it was my home or not. To add to that the picture was incorrectly marked for areas of repair. I have two leaks in two different parts of my house and the picture showed only one. I sent them a reply explaining this and their response was that they needed to send the estimator again to my house. This is for my old house where we do not live. So I had to make a special trip to my old house again so that their estimator could confirm the photo and areas of repair. The estimator was the same and correctly identified the areas for repair recognizing the house immediately. He even showed me the areas of repair on his cell phone. The entire conversation with the estimator was friendly and went well making my hopes rise that they would get it right this time. Well, they didn't. I got another email with a picture showing only one area of repair. When I promptly replied to this email saying that they should refer to my earlier email explaining this their response was unbelievable. They replied saying they "didn't feel comfortable" doing the work for me because of the way I treated their estimator the second time. I was shocked. The estimator had had a perfectly fine conversation both times that he was at my house. He had even showed me the pictures correctly and identified the areas of repair correctly. So why this sudden change in behavior? My guess is that there is something else going on here that they are not telling customers. Whatever the case I was very disappointed with the whole experience, not to mention that my roof still needs repair.

Actually went very well last year. They recommended replacing the entire roof, but we didn't want to do it then. They said they wouldn't need to redo the repair work when we eventually replaced the roof which would likely be required in the next few years. So I was happy that I wouldn't have to pay for it twice. Unfortunately the roof leaked directly next to one of the previous leaks within the year. To be fair, it could very well of been a new leak. However, I didn't pay to just patch the leak, I thought I had paid for the entire section. German Roofing said it wasn't covered and per my request gave me a new estimate to replace the entire roof. The price German roofing quoted to replace the entire roof was actually the same as what others quoted and the others didn't have the benefit of knowing the repair had been done. When I explained showed them the German Roofing invoice from 2013, the other roofer said that the work done by German Roofing wasn't a fraction of the area that German Roofing said they were supposed to repair in 2013. Of course, the new guys could have just been trying to convince me not to trust German Roofing, but their quote to do the work was about the same price. I didn't bother trying to call German Roofing. The facts are pretty clear.

THEN......we heard nothing else from this company. No phone call nothing. Evidently they do not want the possibility of the job. At this point because they don't care we will not be even considering German roofing.

This is my second home that I've hired German roofing to re-roof for me. This is a great company. Responsible and excellent workmanship. I will say it can be hard to reach them and get started on the job, I assume because they are so busy. But they are worth pursuing. You will not be disappointed. Good job guys! (and girls!) Thank you for your excellent work.

On October 13, 2014, German Roofing, with Estimator Manuel Garcia, did an inspection of my roof and provided a proposal and estimate to make the repairs. I was satisfied with the evaluation and estimate. A few days later German Roofing called back and agreed on a date, Saturday, November 22, and start time, 8-11, for the proposed work.. No one called ahead of the agreed to start date and time to confirm the appointment. Ultimately, German Roofing did not show up by the agreed to time on Nov. 22, nor did they call me. I called Manual Garcia and he apologized. He assured me it would not happen again, and we aligned on a new date, Monday, November 24th, and start time, 8-9. Again, no one showed up, nor did I hear from German Roofing. I then called Manuel Garcia to advise him that I was canceling the work. To his credit, Manuel sent me a follow up email, again apologizing and indicating that he would be letting go of the employye who was supposed to do the work.

The first appointment was for the estimate, the gentleman was on-time, professional and courteous. the estimate was detailed as to what was included. Setting up the actual repair appointment took some time due to delays in response from the scheduler. Our expectation was that we would be notified prior to the arrival of the repair team, which did not happen. Our notice was our dogs barking as they were climbed up from the front of the house. They knocked on the door after being on the roof for several minutes. Repair time was less than an hour; we did not hear the sound of sawing to replace the plywood. The crew left without notifying us that they were done, we assumed the broke for lunch until they did not return for several hours. The replacement shingle (singular) was a solid black one that was painted with some white coating and stood out from the rest of the roof. Two separate calls to the company were not returned; one on the afternoon of the repair one the next day, it was several later days before they contacted me for payment and I was able to voice my questions concerns regarding the repair. Upon hearing our concerns that we were not sure that the plywood was replaced and the black shingle was painted, the company assured us that this was not the work that was communicated to them from the crew (described as a new one) and immediately scheduled a second crew to come inspect the work and re-do any discrepancies, this was scheduled on a Saturday morning. The second crew did everything correctly, knocked on arrival before getting on the roof, let us know when they were done, etc.. They replaced the plywood, which was not done by the first crew and several shingles due to the repair with ones that matched our existing ones. We were not asked for payment until after the work was completed to our satisfaction.

We were scheduled out 4 weeks due to the heavy backlog of work they had from a recent record rain. They showed up as scheduled on the date promised and did an excellent job! We would recommend them to anyone in need of roof work.

Job was well done in a timely manner.
