"Outstanding job! Total attention to details. Made trim repairs where the wood was damaged and added extra protection to moisture exposed surfaces. Cleaned and did a thorough sanding job on every surface before painting. Masked off to protect overlap. He and his crew never seemed rushed and went above and beyond my expectations. They also respected my space and didn't play music like so many crews I've experienced. I'm delighted to have used such a professional!!! Rogers excellent painting work is worth waiting for!"

"J.d.s. removed and replaced our back deck. They were amazing. First off the price to have this work done was fair and the quality and professionalism was even better. They not only paid attention to quality of work but also the detail put into the craftsmanship was so much more than what I had expected . They listened to what my expectations were and how I visioned my new deck to look like and helped me achieve the final results. They were punctual and finished by the expected deadline early by 7 days. I will continue to hire j.d.s. to help with the continued remodeling of my home in the future and will continue to trust in j.d.s. for providing me with quality and fine workmanship everytime."

"Mark did an excellent job. He was neat and cleaned everything up. He went the extra mile and secured a loose railing. He left us extra paint and made our deck look great. Highly recommend!"

"Elijah and his crew weâ re always here early and worked all day. They painted the inside of my home and installed all new flooring. My only complaint would be the way the cabinets came out. They cleaned up after and hauled all the carpet and trash away! They were a pleasure to work with."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Ensure gutters and downspouts remain clean, monitor wall integrity, and promptly address any arising imperfections or peels concept permanence rooted.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

Choosing the right product involves understanding deck material, desired finish, and local weather conditions. Opt for high-quality, weatherproof formulations ensuring long-term durability and appearance retention.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.
