"Rick is the poster guy for over performing. He pressure washed our siding, gutters, blew off debris off our garage and house roof, and made other suggestions concerning roof replacement. I had no idea or roof was failing or soft, but his inspection revealed issues which need repair and issues of which we were totally unaware.. Ill have Rick back to pressure wash/strip and paint my deck and for any roof repairs we decide on. He was extremely professional, upbeat, and respectful beyond belief. To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Wooden decks benefit from painting as it helps to keep them watertight. Quality pool deck paints also help make the surface less slippery and less likely to gather mold and mildew or prematurely crack.

You’ll want to avoid excessively hot or humid conditions, so it’s best to apply your stain in late spring to early fall. It's also important to watch the weather forecast and aim for days when there isn’t rain expected for at least three days. For new decks, allow the wood to season beforehand for at least four to eight weeks.

It’s often best to spray on deck sealer. Sprayers can apply sealant more quickly and evenly than rolling while still enabling you to reach tight spaces. When using a sprayer, always use a low-pressure setting at a close distance to ensure an even application. Avoid using sprayers on windy days.
