"I recently had the pleasure of working with Redmon Home Solutions, and I can confidently say it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish! Mike, Ryan, Ricky, and the entire crew did an outstanding job handling the insulation work in my home. From the beginning, their communication was excellent. The team was incredibly responsive and accommodating with my schedule, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Their pricing was also very competitive, making the decision to choose Redmon Home Solutions an easy one. Removing the batting insulation was no easy feat, especially since every single piece had to be extracted from the master closet access to the attic and then out through the master bedroom. I was genuinely amazed at how efficiently they managed this challenging task. By the end of the day, it was as if they had never been there—if you didn’t know better, you wouldn’t have guessed they had just completed such a significant job! What truly impressed me was their attention to detail. I didn’t have to lift a finger—no need to move any of my clothing out of the closet or rearrange anything in the bedroom. They had everything covered, both literally and figuratively! Throughout the process, they documented each step with pictures, from the tear-out and cleanout to sanitization, pest exclusion, and the final blow-in insulation. To say I’m impressed would be an understatement. Redmon Home Solutions exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional, and efficient team for your insulation needs, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend them!"

"They were fantastic and a great value. They were straight shooters, did not give me more than I need in terms of cost or fanciness. They took time (efficiently) to inspect onsite what needed to be done, and finished faster than intended. They even vacuumed up after themselves-above & beyond. I waited a week to see the effects before posting, to be more useful. The improvement in my house's heating and cooling was instant. They came after a long cold streak in Tallahassee (January) and were coming to do two jobs: (1) updating insulation for my 30-year old house with a metal roof and existing insulation and (2) partially-finished garage/office. Now our attic closets & office are more moderate in temperature & do not leak as much hot/cold air. This helps energy efficiency and makes the space more usable. They gave good guidance on that front, too for any future renovations. Went from a 30+ degree differential between the house/closets to a ~5 degree. We use them & my office much more!"

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"Within a couple days of completion I had insulation falling down and the wrap was hanging on a couple of ends, I feel it could have been done more professionally and not sagging, but I unfortunately feel he was more concerned with how fast he could finish it than be thorough , he is a nice person and I do not like giving bad reviews but I feel unsatisfied with the job and especially the money I spent. The one positive was his father installed a new door for me and he did an outstanding job and took his time."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Ductwork sweats due to a temperature difference between the air inside the ducts and the surrounding air, similar to how a cold drink develops condensation in the heat. This sweating is a sign that your HVAC system is not operating at peak efficiency. The best way to keep ductwork from sweating is to wrap it in proper insulation, which also improves your system's energy efficiency. Another option is to close off your crawl space and install a dehumidifier to dry the air and lower its dew point.

On it own, aluminum siding has a relatively low insulation value (also called R-value); aluminum siding has an R-value of 0.61. However, you can purchase insulated aluminum siding to increase the R-value to between 2 and 5. You can also install additional insulation within your walls to help maintain temperatures within your home. On average, insulation costs $1,825 to install throughout the typical home.

Heat lost through uninsulated basement walls can account for up to 30% of the total energy lost through heat transfer to the outdoors. While homes in mild climates won't gain as much benefit from having an insulated basement as those in cold climates, the effects are still noticeable on your energy bill.

Yes, covering exposed wires is necessary for several important reasons. Exposed electrical wires pose significant risks, such as electrical shocks, fires, short circuits, and potential damage to your home’s electrical system. By properly insulating and protecting the wires, you can minimize the potential for accidents, prevent electrical fires, and ensure your electrical system stays intact.

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.
