Customers say: True professional

"Amazing! Orlando and his team did a wonderful job. They worked hard and fast. He communicated good and made sure we’re were pleased all along the way. I would definitely use them again. They replaced all our wood siding with colored Hardie Plank siding, so it’ll never rot and never need painting. They also replaced our 30 years old roof with asphalt shingles. I highly recommend this company."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"Donny came to our residence within 3 days of requesting an appointment for an estimate on closing in our car port to a double car garage with some extra storage on the side accessible through a doorway. He took measurements and talked to me and my  husband for quite some time that evening. We called him back within 3 days and told him he had the job. The very next day Donny and his crew came and got started right away. Within the first day they had the framing up and you could tell it was going to be accomplished quickly and expertly. Donny's crew knows exactly what they are doing. All of the men were professional and extremely polite. Donny spoke with me every day to tell me what their intentions were the next day, and who would be coming, IE, concrete truck, dry waller, painter, electrician, etc. I knew who was coming on any given day and the approx. time they would be here. All told it took 13 men about 8  days to wall in and complete the transformation from a cluttered two car car-port to a wonderful and professional looking addition onto our house. They even blended in the roofing over the extra storage space to make it look like the house had been built that way. This may have been a small job for them, but they treated us as if we were the most important.  Boy was my husband impressed. We both are. If you are looking for a contractor, Donny is your man, I know he is ours, we'll never have to call anyone else."

Siding questions, answered by experts

The average cost to replace siding is $10,500, but you should expect to pay an average of $12,000 to install new siding over stucco. The additional cost goes toward assessing the old stucco for damage, any necessary repairs before the new siding goes up, and the materials and labor required to install furring strips over the stucco to attach the new material. Even with this additional cost, installing siding over stucco is often more affordable than removing the stucco and starting over.

Fiber cement shingle siding is made from a blend of common ingredients, including cement, sand, water, and wood or cellulose fibers. The composition of the mixture varies depending on the manufacturer, however, with some makers opting to include special additives to improve longevity and resilience, and some include dyes and pigments to create custom colors that don’t require painting.

When it comes to fiber cement siding maintenance, it’s not too much work. However, it needs to be painted about every 15 years and may need to be re-caulked to prevent mold. Be sure to also wash your fiber cement siding with a lower-powered garden hose at least twice a year to avoid buildup and fading as well.

Some homeowners use caulk on the edges of clapboard siding to help seal it. However, this method invites new problems. With so many gaps sealed, clapboard siding is often unable to drain properly and moisture from rain or other sources can build up inside. This can lead to rot and other issues over time. When repairing clapboards, it’s best to avoid caulking the final product. The exception is trim around windows and doors, which should be caulked to avoid moisture problems.

To calculate how much siding you need for exterior walls, first measure the height and width of the rectangular walls. For the triangular gable walls, measure the width and then the height from the ground to the tallest gable point.

  • For the rectangular walls, the calculation is: length x height

  • For the triangular gable walls, the calculation is: (length x height) / 2

Once you add these up, include an additional 10% to account for any wastage.
