Customers say: Quick response

"Tom started with a closet and then added redoing the bedroom with a lot of detail he suggested. Then a Rec Room was created with a bar and beautiful wood detail. Tom does great work! Love the added space and beautiful details."

"When no one locally even responded to my inquiries for a quote, Michelle got back to me the same day with a quote and description of how the repair would be done. It's a slight downside to have to ship one glove coast to coast for a minor repair on one finger. But the cost of shipping and the repair is much less than purchasing another $100 pair of gloves! The repair took a little longer than anticipated, but shipping time had to be factored in as well. Michelle was very prompt with communications during the process. Cost of service below did not include shipping which was about $16 round trip. The glove returned good as new...well as good as it's pair. The glove is two years old. But the seam was totally resewn and reinforced. Michelle stated she did not want to the issue to happen again. I hope it won't. The problem started with my fingers rubbing. Very happy with the service from Premier. I wish they had a shop in Maryland!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

In Mobile, early signs like fabric discoloration, persistent dampness, or fraying seams can quickly escalate due to the region’s frequent storms and high humidity. If you notice wood swelling, loose webbing, or evidence of local pests such as termites, act promptly. These issues often signal deeper structural or moisture problems that, if ignored, may require extensive furniture repair or replacement.

Helpful?

In Mobile, choosing supplies that withstand coastal weather is crucial for furniture restoration. Opt for marine-grade or outdoor fabrics, closed-cell foam, and synthetic blends to resist humidity, mildew, and sun exposure. Stainless steel or galvanized staples and tacks help prevent rust. For added durability, select UV-protected textiles and moisture-barrier liners, which are especially important during Mobile’s rainy and hurricane-prone months.

Helpful?

In Mobile, longevity depends on using water-resistant fabrics, rust-proof hardware, and quality foam that resists mildew. Properly sealing seams and using UV-protective treatments help prevent sun and moisture damage. Regularly vacuuming upholstery, maintaining indoor humidity with dehumidifiers, and rotating furniture away from windows or damp areas are key steps to extend the life of your upholstery in Mobile’s climate.

Helpful?

Upholstering in Mobile may influence indoor air quality, especially if old fabrics harbor allergens or mold. Large projects can temporarily raise humidity, impacting HVAC performance. Moving furniture may expose vulnerable flooring to moisture, so use protective coverings. If you’re addressing pest or water damage, coordinate with pest control or home maintenance to ensure the problem doesn’t spread to other areas of your home.

Helpful?

In Mobile, immediate attention is needed if you detect active mold, pest infestation, or structural instability, as these can worsen rapidly in the Gulf climate. Minor fabric wear or fading can be monitored, but schedule repairs before hurricane season to avoid weather-related delays. Prioritize projects in rooms with poor ventilation or near exterior doors, where moisture intrusion is more common.
