Small jobs welcome

I’ve been doing tree and skid steer work for about 20 years, customer satisfaction is my goal. The job is not complete until you, the customer, are happy. I am a perfectionist, I like and want stuff done right! I am willing to travel almost anywhere within the state. I am highly efficient in a skid steer and working out of a bucket truck..

"Awesome service! My property is raw. Unused for over 30+ yrs. I've had nothing but problems getting it ready to move onto, little over a year now. UNTIL Cahaba. Honest, reliable, efficient & fast. I'm so very happy with the results they provided. I will only use this company moving forward. The owner, Shannon works around your specific needs & helps you put a plan together within your budget. I just don't have enough words to express how grateful I am for them, because I almost gave up on my property. I recommend them above all others."

"Very well, we now have a  beautiful grass lawn. The project became larger than originally anticipated as there was more lot preparation  required to get a quality landscaped lot.  Rainy conditions proved difficult for the sod farm to cut the sod required and there were last minute changes of sod vendors to get the installation completed in a timely fashion.  The cleared area proved too large to completely finish with the sod ordered and some side areas were filled with pine straw pending "Phase 2" of our large lot improvement project. We are very pleased with the work ethic, promptness, and pleasant demeanor of Dirty Heath. We will be using him again as we move forward with the major lot improvement project on our property.  He can do just about anything with his large skill set, and that was a real plus on this project.

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

This is fairly rare, but sometimes the local government or a group like a historical society will label a tree as a landmark, or historical item. These designations almost always come with a small, on-site plaque for identification, but you should also be able to look up protected trees in your area on a city website or similar list. If the tree in question is a landmark, call your local government and ask how to proceed before making any plans.

A boundary survey measures the boundary lines of the property, only the length of each property line and their locations. A land survey includes a more in-depth measurement of the property, including the heights and depths of the terrain measured by a topographic survey. A boundary survey is typically the most cost-effective method for marking and measuring property lines.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.
