"JLS Plumbing did a great job installing my tankless water heater. They were thorough, efficient and trustworthy. The tankless system was installed and checked by city inspector, however one of the tanks wouldn't drain and a pump was ordered to help with the draining and they returned a week later, drained and removed the old tank even though they had been paid the week prior. I know that some may think that they were supposed to, but doesn't always happen like that. Jackie and his crew addressed all of my concerns with professionalism"

In business since 2000

"I highly recommend them for a water heater replacement. The owner, John Burt, is a master plumber and gas fitter certified. My 16 years old natural gas water heater, located in my attic, had to be replaced asap. I did not want the new gas water heater installed in the attic for peace of mind, so I contacted several companies about installing it on floor level in my garage storage room. Burt Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning came to the rescue with a very reasonable price and assurance that my new water heater can be placed in the garage storage room. Mr. Burt did an EXCELLENT job with rerouting the gas line, the water line, drainpipe, and other things from the attic to the storage room. He did a very good, professional, and neat job and he cleaned up afterward. He arrived before the scheduled time, which was especially important to me."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

French drains may fail when they become clogged with soil granules that slip through the pores of the landscaping fabric and through the holes in the pipe.

Over time, this debris can build up inside the pipe and prevent water flow. To prevent this failure from happening, regularly flush out your French drain and keep debris away from the inlet grate.

Ever wonder what might cause your outdoor spigot to lose water flow? It's not as complicated as one might think. Something as simple as a clogged or leaky pipe could be the culprit. Some other causes are corrosion of the pipes or lack of water pressure coming from your street.

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

In some cases, operating a snake can damage your drain and pipes. This depends on the overall condition of your pipes and how gently you operate the auger. For instance, older galvanized pipes covered in zinc are susceptible to scratches when using a drain snake. Additionally, it’s common for newbies to apply too much force when extending the snake, leading to scratches and related damage. You can also crack the porcelain with an electric auger if you’re snaking a toilet drain. If you’re using a manual snake or auger, the risk is minimal.
