Recent Solar Companies Reviews in Milwaukee

  • Arch Electric Inc

My solar panels are up, and I'm happy to say I have gotten a credit on my utility bill because of the surplus power generated. Arch Electric took care of all the paperwork and permitting, and the process was rather simple for me. Their sales reps and installers were excellent communicators, and I am happy with how the installation turned out

  • Arch Electric Inc

My solar system (photovoltaic panels or "PV" system as I guess the pros call it) from Arch Electric has been up and running for five months now. I could not recommend Arch Electric more highly. First of all, they are local and have been in Wisconsin a long time. They are a family business. That means something to me. I researched it a bit before I made the first phone call. From what I could ascertain, Arch installs only the best PV panels available. I know there are cheaper solar panels out there but they aren't rated that highly. This was a big expense upfront and a long-time commitment for me. I wanted high-quality solar panels that I wouldn't have to worry about five or ten years from now. That is what Arch Electric sells and installs. The entire process was excellent. The estimator came out and spent time with me. I wasn't sure at that point that I was going to go ahead with it. She talked with me about how the system works, the installation process, the tax credits (important to me!), financing and the estimated time it would take for the system to pay for itself (not as long as you'd think). She sent a quote promptly after I gave her my electric bills so she could estimate the best system for me and my family. We continued to discuss my goals, costs, concerns and so forth. We emailed back and forth when I had questions. She was very, very responsive. I will tell you that my system is thought to pay itself off in 9-to-11 years and after that it's wholly free energy. That is darned attractive. The other BIG selling point to me was that if something goes wrong, Arch Electric's 25-year warranty is for parts AND labor. Twenty-five years!! Obviously, Arch stands behind what they sell. It's impressive and won me over. I want a system that is worry-free. After the contract was signed, they sent an engineer to figure out if my roof would support the weight and other engineering measurements to ensure a good plan. (My roof was fine.) The engineer was pleasant and efficient. And clean. On the day of installation, they sent three installers. Those guys were great!! They were on-time (a little early, actually), respectful, efficient, CLEAN and when there were decisions to be made I was consulted. Such a good process! I can't believe that installation went so quickly. It took only two days. In fact, one of the installers had to wait until 8PM on the last day for a WeEnergies inspector to give his blessing on the system before the switchover. This installer was so good about waiting. He had nothing to do for hours other than wait. I felt terrible for him and his family. He never complained. Such a nice guy! During the installation, Arch sent a supervisor to make sure I was happy. He also brought me very generous jug of the homemade maple syrup that the Arch Electric family makes every spring. It is a lovely gift that they don't "have" to give. I really appreciate the family thoughtfulness and generosity. (Do you have any idea how much effort it takes to make "real" maple syrup and not that garbage they sell at the supermarket? OMG!) Anyway, five months later, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my solar system. I have an app on my mobile phone where I can see the status of each panel (like I know what any of those data mean - LOL!), review my system's output and see my savings up to the minute -- money that I am not paying to WeEnergies anymore. It's heaven. If you are thinking about getting a solar system, I think you should start a conversation with Arch Electric. It's an upstanding, quality company. It is not possible to recommend anyone higher. Good luck and go solar!

  • Sun Badger Solar

From start to finish, Dustin, Cameron, and Alex provides excellent service for our install. The only downside to our process doesn’t necessarily belong to them, but Solar is expensive. With our system facing west, we have to pay more to get the % energy we needed. From a national average, we were a bit high, but that’s what we get in Wisconsin. The panels are installed exactly how we had planned for them to go. They look nice on our roof, and have been producing on par with our estimates. Communication was fantastic, and has continued to be great after install. We are very pleased with Sun Badger Solar. Thanks to the whole crew

  • Sun Badger Solar

Sun Badger was top notch from the first meeting until my solar was commissioned. We were shopping for solar for about a year and finally settled on sun badger. Sun badger offered in our opinion the best customer support we could ask for. From the base camp app which tracks your projects status to the enlighten app that tracks you solar output, we couldn't have asked for more. Sun Badger kept us up to date on the project's status via the base camp app. If I had any questions, I just posted on the base camp app and received a response shortly. Install was very quick (about 1 day to get the panels installed). Once commissioned by the electrical company, all I did was download the enlighten app and I was immediately able to view my solar panel and everything related to the energy output. We are very happy to have gone with Sun Badger! Highly Recommend this company

  • Integrated Building Systems
    5.0
The team from Integrated Building Systems were very professional in their installation of both a solar photovoltaic array and a critical load panel that is powered via a battery backup system (automatically tapped during power outages). Darren is a hands-on owner, and was on site for most of the work. He sought out and was very receptive to my input, working with me to choose the best locations for all of the required hardware, taking into account efficiency, convenience, and aesthetics. As with many electrical projects, there was some need to cut holes that required repairs (in our case, in the drywall behind the existing electric supply, to route the solar output down to the meter location), but they were careful to align with the studs, and make precise, square cuts, which made it easier for us to patch and repair. Darren provided a detailed proposal which made it easy to evaluate the bid, and also provided all the required technical information for us to apply for necessary building and zoning permits (this will be specific to your locale). Darren was available (if needed, at an hourly rate) to attend the village meetings during our application process, but we were able to make the necessary presentations without him. ===> In summary, I am very happy with the flexible design of our solution and the resulting installation, and very satisfied with Darren and his team. I highly recommend Integrated Building Systems for your solar project and electrical project needs. <==== More project details follow: our system consists of 24 LG PV panels connected to Iron Ridge racking (3 panels high by 8 wide) sited on our south-facing roof, with an Enphase micro-inverter attached to each panel; these inverter outputs are combined in an attic-installed Enphase IQ Combiner and Envoy. Via the Envoy, our solar production can be monitored via web and smartphone apps. The solar system is grid-connected, and per utility requirements, a "sell" meter and solar panel cutoff were installed near our existing "buy" electric meter. The battery-backup system requires a charger and inverter (we have Magnum equipment to handle battery charging, inverter capabilities, automatic load switching, and battery monitoring). Our 8 rack-installed batteries provide upwards of 1400 (rated) amp hours supporting only a portion of our home circuits; depending upon our energy usage, we estimate perhaps 3 days of usage (in the absence of solar production) with longer duration backup during an outage depending on our ongoing energy consumption, as well as some sunny weather to recharge the batteries. NOTE - it is not necessary to install a battery-backup with a solar PV array. However - perhaps counter intuitively - a grid-connected solar system will not produce power during a power outage. (Grid-connected systems must be designed to automatically stop energy production when the grid is down). In order to produce solar power during a grid outage, you must have an independent source of power (to "trick" the electronics in the micro-inverters, allowing solar power to be produced), along with automatic transfer switches to the alternate power source and to cutoff the new source of power from the grid. Alternate power could be provided by a stand-by generator, or, as we chose, a battery backup. This backup can feed circuits in a critical load panel that is switched between the normal state (grid and/or solar) and outage state (batteries and/or solar). Suggested critical load circuits include those for furnaces, sump-pumps, refrigerators, freezers, microwave, selected light and outlet circuits - including circuits for a TV, radio, computer, and internet router, etc

These things are all very confusing to a single lady . IBS gave very good instruction with some written reminders for the future on how to access various features of smart TV, cable, Netflix.

Frank arrived on time and after showing him attic access, he got right to work. Just took 2 hours to install.

  • Arch Electric Inc

Overall, I feel Arch did an excellent job. We bought through a solar group-buy in the summer of 2014. The estimator that came to our house implied a start date that was considerable before when the project actually started, to the point we considered cancelling. Once the project was started, it was completed quickly and we have not had any problems since
