Day of installation, they opened the gate to my yard, and bent the gate all the way back, ruining the spring on my gate. While installing the stove and flue, spray painted the top portion of the flue IN MY HOUSE right next the the ceiling splattering specs of green paint on the wall behind the woodstove. Then attempted to clean up the mess by spraying my freshly painted wall with Windex with Ammonia leaving streaks on the wall had to repaint that section of wall. The owner of the business is the installer, with an associate. Owner was constantly on the phone dealing with personal business. We used the stove approx. 5 times and on October 25th lit a fire, came back in the living room it was full of SMOKE. I quickly called my husband and he came home. Smoke was billowing in around the top of flue, coming out the back and front of stove too. Husband call High Country Stove and talked to owner. He said we had probably "already clogged spark arrestor". Husband asked him to come over and take a look since his business is only about 5 minutes away. He refused, said no time today maybe tomorrow or next day. SMOKE IN LIVING ROOM NOW!!! He stated he had done everthing up to "code". That we had a "unique" situation. All in all terrible customer service. Husband then went to Wyoming Woodstove. They were very helpful and helped figure out what the problem was and gave suggestions on how to fix it. Bottom line: High Country Stove did NOT stand behind their product, did not offer to even take a look at what the problem was. Very rude. IT will probably cost us another $150.00 to fix problem after we spent $40000.00 on stove and installation. I cannot believe how confrontational this man got. Kept suggesting we did something wrong without even coming and looking at what the problem was.
