Kent, the owner, is always professional, and is a straight shooter. He only fixes what needs fixing, and charges accordingly. I have a fair amount of skill fixing my own automotive issues, but when it's beyond my skill, or I am just to lazy, I take it to Advanced Automotive, and they get the job done quick and right. I've never had to take my car back to correct something they should have gotten the first time. An all around good shop. It's hard to find a good mechanic, which is why I'm writing this.

We love using advanced auto for our auto service. They are always quick. Extremely honest. And upfront with all aspects of the job. We had taken a vehicle that was handed down to us in to see what kind of damage it had. They explained all the issues it had and we had them fix a couple if them.

I am a student on a budget and cannot afford to pay for all maintenance at a moments notice. I went to them a couple of times and each time felt like they were tacking on repairs not entirely necessary. My first experience was when my 4wd stopped working and they diagnosed a short in a relatively inexpensive part ($120). Later that day they called back saying now the part further down the line had been shorted out, adding another $250 to the total. Again later that day, I received similar call where yet another part had shorted out and added another $200 to the repair cost totalling now $550! To top it off, I could've swore the guy at the front desk said that they had shorted one of these additional parts themselves and I am now paying for it. To be fair, I was upset and cannot be positive. For this reason I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back to them when my check engine light went on. It turns out my car was just signaling routine maintenance, but they said the spark plug wires should be replaced and quoted $160. Later that day I received a call and said they have good news: the wires don't need to be replaced so they just replaced the spark plugs for $100. This tells me that my wires did not need to be replaced in the first place, and were trying to squeeze more money out of me instead of resetting my computer for an affordable $60. Also, spark plugs are the easiest thing to replace yourself and will only cost $30. Furthermore, they forgot to mention that the $130 original quote didn't include a $60 charge for resetting the computer. Which is fair enough, but it would nice to know that in advance. In the end, I paid $160 to have them change my spark plugs, which I could have done myself. Last straw; I will be going to someone else.

I had my front and rear end serviced. They did a good job on the work I wanted done.
