Craig was easy to work with. He was prompt and professional. We had discussed replacing the garage door opener as well but he checked it out and it was working fine. His quote for the job was spot on. He even adjusted the opener and track so it would function correctly. I feel Craig's business is top notch. The Overhead Door company wanted $600 more for the same job and less warranty on the product. I highly recommend Garage Door Dudes.

The Garage Door Dudes came over to my home on the same day I called them--very responsive. They quickly and meticulously evaluated my garage door and provided me advice on my door issue. They also brought me back a quote later in the week as I requested. Funny and polite gentlemen and I will definitely be using them again.

The contractor sent his son to my home on a Saturday regarding a broken spring on my garage door. The son opened the garage door so we could remove our vehicles. The son was unable to repair the broken spring and told us that his father would be back on Tuesday to complete the work. The father, Craig, did come to our home on Monday. The father, Craig told us the springs that were currently installed were the wrong size and that we would need to replace both springs. He made a call to a local supplier who told him that they would need to check their inventory and call him back in a few minutes. Craig then called a supplier in Denver and after learning that the Denver source had the springs, he told me that he was going to Denver the next day, Wednesday and would pick the springs up and return to install them on Thursday. Craig told us the springs would be approximately $50 a piece to purchase, and the install fee would be $50 per spring. Craig returned on Thursday and installed the springs. He then submitted his bill to my wife for $400. She asked him about the increased charges from the initial quote. Craig said that he installed a heavier spring, increasing the cost from $50 per spring to $125 per spring, and the labor fee for the heavier spring increased from $100 to install both to $150. After Craig left, my wife called me at work to explain the bill from Craig. I mentioned this to a friend of mine, who told me that he had just replaced his garage door springs and the contractor charged him $200. I called Craig to discuss my dissatisfaction with his bill. He told me that he would refund me $100, but said that I now had a much heavier spring than initially quoted. He immediately brought $100 to me at my home. While there, he said he had just learned that the supplier in Denver has sold him springs that were less heavy duty than what he thought he had installed. In his words, he charged me for a 25,000 cycle spring, but only installed a 10,000 cycle spring, which was what the original springs were. Craig still overcharged me by $100 for his service, based on his quote. Additionally, on Tuesday, the first day that Craig was at our home assessing the work, and making calls to the local supplier and the Denver source, the local supplier called him back and advised that they did have the 10,000 cycle springs in stock. Craig, in front of me, told the local supplier that he didn't need the springs; since he had found a set in his garage that he could use. After ending the call with the local supplier, Craig said to me that I needed a much heavier spring since my garage door had windows. He lied to his supplier right in front of me about having the springs. That should have been a warning to me right there to not do business with this company!
