Service was timely despite extremely cold weather. Andy was quick and professional.

I called to set up an appointment to have someone come out. The lady that answered said she would talk to the owner in about 10 minutes and call me back. By the next day she hadn't called me so I called again and got voicemail and left a message. A waited a week and called again and talked to the same lady. She sounded irritated that I kept calling and told me again in no uncertain terms that she had said she would call me when she saw the owner to tell him about my problem. I got the feeling she didn't want me calling back and that I was being a pest. I had the owner' so cell phone and called home a week later and got his voicemail. He never called back either. I ended up calling Pierson Technical Services in Dunbar and they came out the next morning.

It went great. They are a very good company.

They really take the time to make sure the job is done correctly and are very friendly and professional.

I was treated well on the phone when I called. I called late in the day, so I was assigned a couple of guys for the next morning. They called to let me know they were coming and an approximate time, and they showed up during that time. They were polite and professional, worked efficiently, informed me of everything they were doing, and the work they did was solid.
The only reason I wouldn't use them in the future is the price of their labor. The service call automatically generates a fee equal to an hour of labor, and the hourly rate is quite steep. I marked No for and quot;Would you use this provider in the future?and quot; but in actuality I would still use them if no cheaper options were available.

I requested that a representative from Absten and Sons come to my home to give me an estimate on electrical repair work. I had two circuits that weren't working and I needed several lights and attic fans replaced. The person came, said he'd check the faulty circuits while he was there and then give me an estimate for the total cost of the repairs and installations. He fixed some wires and then left, saying he would get back to me with an estimate in a day or two. That was five years ago and I never heard from him again. After several days, I called the office, but no one returned my call.

I think they're excellent. They couldn't improve on anything. They did an excellent job. They've got an excellent reputation. I'm going to use them again if I need them. Everything they did was excellent.

The past few days have been unseasonably hot and I noticed that the fan on the air conditioning unit would start off strong and, after a few hours, have very little force. I researched this problem on the internet and narrowed it down to a damaged/freezing coil or a low freon level.
I looked for a local HVAC company with good references. I also had my wife check for any recent ads. She found a coupon for Absten and Sons. There were several discount options available, so I called and made an appointment for the next day after 1 pm, as they were very busy.
Joe, the technician, called and said that he was ahead of schedule and made it to my house about an hour ahead of time. He thoroughly checked the inside and outside units. He discovered that the freon level was about 2 pounds low but did not find any leaks, damage or other serious issues. Joe was very helpful. We discussed the pros and cons of my system and what may need to be done in the future to keep it running good.
My only complaint would be with the billing. There was a service fee of $65 just to come out plus $85 per hour. I haven't had to call out a tech in quite a while so that may be customary. Fortunately, Joe called his boss who approved the use of a coupon I had for waiving the service fee if repair work was completed. I'm not certain that the service met the coupon stipulations but any company that is willing to save a man a dollar these days will get my repeat business!
Overall, my first experience with Absten and Sons was excellant.

We bought a generator from Home Depot so all of our billing went through them. Another contractor came to look at the installion but never came back. We called Home Dopot on a Monday and Absten and Sons called the next morning and sent an installation crew. They were very polite and worked very hard in 100 degree weather. First we had the Gas and Electrical crew show up and they did what they needed to do then the generator crew showed up. They even asked if I minded if they took a 30 minute lunch. We were very pleased about the quality of work, punctuality, and professional of the workers. Would I use them again? Yes. We had no problems what so ever. Best yet, that very night our power went off and the generator just took over without us doing anything and we had power until the next day when the power came back on.
