Auto Towing Service
Our vehicle was totaled in Parkersburg, WV and was then towed by International Sales & Service to their facility in Williamstown, WV. (AKA Car Wrex.) An accident occurred in front of our home in mid February when a driver hit our parked Jeep, totaling the Jeep, the drivers? car and another car that was parked behind the Jeep. Our Jeep was towed to International Sales and Service (IS&S) and was stored there, waiting for the Insurance Adjuster. We were notified by the other drivers insurance that we had to remove the vehicle from the tow yard because they would not pay for storage after February 26th. My husband went to the storage yard on March 1st to arrange removal of the Jeep but was told by Brett at IS&S that we could leave the Jeep there at no charge other than what the insurance would pay. We decided to leave the Jeep since we still had not heard if the insurance had totaled the vehicle. It was more than a week later that the adjuster finally saw the Jeep and deemed it a total loss. At that time my husband went back to the tow yard, again, prepared to make arrangements to remove the Jeep. Again he spoke with Brett and again, Brett assured him that the Jeep could stay there at no additional costs, since we had not decided where we were going to take it. Still waiting for an insurance settlement in the first part of April, my husband and son both went to the storage yard to speak with them about the Jeep. Brett took time to point out the frame damage on the Jeep and again told my husband that there was no hurry in removing the Jeep, that they would accept whatever the insurance paid. Yesterday my son went to the tow yard to meet a friend who was going to tow the Jeep to his home for parts. When the friend arrived first and was looking at the Jeep, Brett offered to sell him the motor. My son arrived and Brett then told him that we owed more than $900.00 for storage and tow fees. My husband then went and spoke with Brett and reminded him of their conversations. Brett stated that he had been wrong and we had to pay the storage fee, and said we owed $390.00, in addition to the $400+ that the insurance was to pay. In the end, we had to sign over the title of the Jeep in order to avoid the $390.00 of additional charges.
