Our inspection was performed by Scott Langmyer. I cannot say enough about his professionalism, thoroughness, knowledge and very personable demeanor. I walked through the entire inspection with Scott. He explained everything he was checking and why. We couldn't be more pleased with his thorough report which informed us of everything we needed to know with the purchase of a new home. We also opted to have the radon test done, which I highly recommend. Many people feel this testing is unnecessary and just an extra expense, as they don't realize just how dangerous radon is and that most homes have it. Ours measured above the EPA acceptable exposure limit and we will be having a mitigation system installed. We paid $596 for the home inspection, pest inspection, and radon testing. Money well spent for peace of mind knowing what your getting into when you're purchasing a new home.

As a first-time home buyer I was very nervous about our home-inspection. Will they meticulously look at everything, like I would (if I knew what to look for)? Will they rush through it? Will they be honest and explain to us what we are getting into, in terms that we can easily understand?
With our first experience in the hands of Scott Langmyer, I could not have asked for a better experience. It went over and beyond all of my expectations. While, it was a pricey investment, I got every penny's worth and more, and would spend that money over and over again if it guaranteed the type of service offered to us by Scott.
There was open communication from the time of scheduling. A week before the inspection he sent a reminder email, outlining the scheduled time, a price quote, and payment expectations.
He showed up promptly at 8 in the morning as scheduled. Introduced himself, and got to work. He was professional and very prepared with the proper tools, and a camera to document anything he found. He crawled into tight spaces, got out his ladder to inspect the higher points of the home, even used binoculars at various times to point things out to us that we couldn't see with the naked eye. He included us in everything. Allowed us to ask as many questions as we had. Educated us on what we should be concerned about, and also helped us to have reasonable expectations with purchasing a older home. For example, there are some things that were designed differently 80 years ago, and don't make sense to us today, but if we want to live in the Woodsdale area, we can expect to find that in most homes in the area. He spent nearly the whole day inspecting our home. 8am-1pm. So it's safe to say that he did not rush through it.
We later got a full report via email. We were to expect it within 24 hours of the inspection. We got it the same evening. The report was easy to understand and covered everything that we observed throughout the inspection.
For sellers, they can be rest assured that he respected the home itself. We are in the unique position of buying a home that we are currently renting. He had special house shoes that he wore when entering the home to inspect it. He knocked and asked for permission to enter every room. He also would ask to move things that were in his way, and put things right back when he was done. Very professional.
Again, he was professional, certified, detail-oriented, friendly, an educator, and exceeded our expectations. I would recommend him to any of my close friends and will use him in every home we choose to purchase.

Inspection was fairly thorough. Scott seemed very knowledgable and spent time to go over the issues found. The cost was a bit higher than I thought it should be, but he is definitely one of the best in the area. Other than the cost, he is someone that I would and have recommended to others.

Professionalism, definatly. Scott, the inspector did a complete and thorough inspection, was very knowledgeble but also knew how to explain things in a not so technical manner. Very friendly and easy to work with. I did not feel rushed at all and he took the time to ensure all of my questions were answered. This down to earth inspector's prices are a bit above average but the time he spends with you and the organization and thoroughness of his service is worth every penny. I will definetly recommend to anyone buying a house.
