The service manager was very gracious, welcoming me and ushering me into a well-appointed waiting room. The service was performed quickly, and included a complimentary car wash.

Leaving the Charleston, WV Walmart on February 19, 2013, I noticed that it was raining lightly, so I got my brand new 2013 Nissan Altima and pulled it in front of the store while Mom waited.
When I pulled the car in front of Walmart, I put it in park and opened my door slightly, so I could see and access the release button for the trunk lid. I pressed the button and *CRASH*.
I looked in the rear view mirror and saw that the back window was almost completely broken out. I got out of the car to figure out what had happened and noticed that the trunk lid hadn't just popped open slightly. It was vertical, all the way open, and there were impact marks in the glass on both sides of the window where the corners of the trunk lid had hit the window when it popped open.
I had to drive from Charleston, WV to Wheeling, WV with the rear window out. I drove straight to the dealership.
The dealership maintains that the wind caught it and flung it up, and we and our insurance have to pay for the repairs. We told them that it wasn’t even particularly windy, but that made no difference. I've complained to Nissan; Nissan has twice [on their web site and their Facebook page] said that they’re assigning someone to study it and they’ll get back to me “by the end of business tomorrow”. That was four days ago, and I’ve heard nothing.
There was only a microsecond delay between my pushing that button and the noise. If it was a gust of wind, it would have had to come up just as I pressed that button and in just the exact location to fling that lid open. It was raining, but it wasn't that windy.
That's a heck of a coincidence, and I don't believe in coincidences of that magnitude.
