Extremely well as far as the inspector's work went. The first home inspection revealed so many serious problems in the first half of the process that, upon seeing my abject disappointment, Mr. Hodgdon offered to halt the process and charge only a nominal fee for his work thus far. However, I chose to proceed with the full inspection so as to have the full picture, and then opted out of the home purchase after discussions with the seller. The seller, in my opinion, knowingly covered up issues and was being dishonest about the condition of the home he had renovated to flip.
Upon finally finding another home I placed under contract, Mr. Hodgdon's services were called upon again, and he presented me with an unexpected discounted price due to my being a return customer.  Once again, he performed a thorough, extremely well-documented and well-explained inspection. This time, understanding the problems as described that needed to be repaired, I went forward with the purchase, determined to get everything fixed that was found to be a problem. I cannot overstate the implicit trust I have in Mr. Hodgdon's professionalism and integrity, or how deeply impressed I continue to be by his detailed attention and thorough explanation of every item covered in the inspection, and by the beautifully detailed and photographed report produced following each of the inspections. 
While I was deeply disappointed at having to give up my dream of owning the first home I had under contract, I am forever indebted to Mr. Hodgdon that I did not move forward with the purchase despite the urgency of my need to move and how badly I wanted that house.  I'd have been an idiot to buy it despite its egregiously covered-up defects.  If you utilize his services, you can be 100% sure that, whether you buy the home or not, you will be thoroughly knowledgeable about every facet of that home's condition.  Mr. Hodgdon patiently answers every question, explains each finding and what would be involved in correcting problems.  He will not, however, give his opinion on whether you should buy the home -- that decision is yours alone.
