My Mother-in law called James and he told her he knew what the issue was. She was told that if they did not do any work, there would be no charge, she is 67 and lives alone. The odor in the house was bad enough to burn your eyes and make your throat sore after 30 minutes. Valley Plumbing showed up on time, came into the house and said they could not smell anything, one of them said he was sick and could not smell anything anyway. They took a flashlight and looked down the drain in the bathtub and sink, said they were full of water and there could not be any gas escaping from them. Both of them then went around the outside of the house and said they could not find anything. Before they left, the one that said he was sick brought paperwork to her and said there was a service call fee. She explained that she had been told that if they did not do any work, there would be no charge. He asked her to sign stating that they had been there and had not done any damage. A few days later, she gets a bill in the mail stating that she had refused to pay the bill and they had her signature in the space marked total due. It also stated that she had 30 days to pay or they would turn it over to collections. That the Guys have to be paid for the travel time. I tried to call the owner of Valley Plumbing and left a message for him to call me, he never did. After no response from the owner, I posted a negative review on Valley Plumbing's Facebook Page. I was there for this entire time with her and it was terrible to see. After they left, I called another company, they showed up and fixed the issue in five minutes. It was a vent for the bathtub and sink. Today, My mother-in-law received a hateful and threatening phone call from Barbra Arnold with MacCorkle and Lavender Law Firm telling her that if I did not remove the post they were going to sue. I called Barbra Arnold back and she had the same attitude with me. I hung up on her. WOULD NOT recommend Valley Plumbing for any kind of service. The misled my elderly Mother-in-law and threaten you with collections and lawsuits when your not satisfied with their work, or lack thereof in her case.

Dave and John responded quickly to our call. They went above and beyond to complete the repair and did a great job.

Had to have the crawl space pumped out; once that was done, the work went very quickly. Only issue being the 2 workers were here also during the pumping process, and their time in the truck appears to have been included. But I have developed another issue and it also seems to have to do with the main sewer, they will be here tomorrow, we'll see how that goes!

We have to back up to the waterline deal. They tore up our yard, they broke some equipment and we were not home, so they broke equipment and they made us pay for it, a part of it. They charged us an exorbitant amount. They had more people there that sat around and charged us for it, than they needed. They broke their equipment on pulling out the line, so that tells me they don't know what they're doing. So I thought of correct back hoe or something, to get it out. It was a wedge, my husband said and they broke their table on it, well if they knew what they were doing, they would have known that, that was not going to work. They were trying to pull the lawn up or something with a truck, they needed to dig down to the lawn, to find out what was wrong, they were trying to pull the lot up, out of the ground, and there wasn't any gear for it. Like I say, we were not very happy, I mean like, they fixed the lawn, the later we had to know the problem with it. They just charged us too much, charged us for breaking a lawn, and they had too many people out there sitting around. So they truly over charge. Bottom line, we would not have them back again. They only had a meter leak, which was not their fault, it was in another area. We had such a long water line. My husband put in, water wells, I thinks he has got five of them coming up the hill, so he doesn't have to dig up the whole yard, so that he can tell, between what water well and what water well the leak is in the meter wells, they're dry, they just have a turn off valve in. This was in another area, where the Valley had worked, and the city's finally worked the loose, so that means they hadn't tighten them enough to prevent them to jiggle off. They should not come off.

The work was okay but they insisted that we, because our water heater was leaking, had to replace it with an 80-gallon that was the same with what was there, that it was the law and all that stuff, and it was a very extensive situation. I wasn't feeling well that day and my husband wasn't here, so I went ahead and let them do it and I found out later after doing research that what they told me was not true, that I didn't have to replace it with the same thing and that it wasn't any kind of law or regulation. I called the State of West Virginia. I called local inspectors and found out that wasn't true. They were here down in the spot. They wanted money. They lied. I absolutely would not use them again.

I will not use them again.  He charged me an exuberant rate to install a faucet that took only thirty minutes.  I've used them before and they have changed their pricing.

I've used Valley Plumbing the past few years and was reasonably pleased with their service. This time, I called because I had a leak at the kitchen sink. When they arrived they first explained that they now charge (approximate) $59.00 for a service call just to look at your problem and give an estimate. Foolishly I accepted it because I was desperate. In the end, I paid a total of $356.00 for them to spend 45 minutes in my house, changing out a kitchen faucet (which I provided). I will never use them again. At the rate they charged, their labor is about $456 per hour.

After calling EJ Thompson & Son to cancel my appointment.  (See my expirence with EJT&S in another review)>
I called Valley Plumbing around 8:00 am on Friday, February 22, 2013.  I told the person at Valley Plumbing (here after VP) what the problem was with the sewer.  The man I spoke with said that they would be right over, around 8:30 or so.
Yep, right on time VP was at the door.
I showed the men to the garage and the main cleanout.  They got right to work and fished a camera and locator down the main line until they could get the camera no farther.
Using the locator beacon on the camera device, they soon located the beacon.  (I have learned not to even try to guess where a buried sewer line might be located).  VP brought a mini-back hoe and soon had the sewer line uncovered, and the break located.  The problem was a previous repair of the clay field tile.  The repair, with plastic pipe, had broke loose in two places and cracked open.
The field tile leading to the Union Public Service sewer was also plugged.
The auger was not cleaning out the stoppage.  A decision was made to install a new line from the house to the main sewer.  The quoted price was $2800.00.  The work done so far was included.  Ok, do it!
VP immediately left to get the necessayr supplies and equipment. They came back with more help, a big back hoe and a dump truck filled with crushed rock for the sewer line bedding.
A new trench was quickly dug and permission from the UPSC to make a new tie into the sewer line, at a manhole in the back yard.
   P. asked permission to demolish a tree that was in the way, and I said that it was fine with me, as I was going to cut it down in the spring anyway.  This tree may have been responsible for some of the sewer blockages in the old field tile.  The branches were broken off by use of the back hoe and placed out of the way.
The tie hole was cut into the manhole and the UPSC representative, J., approved the line and tie-in.
The sewer replacement started around noon and it was around 3:30 or 4:00 when more crew arrived from the finish of other jobs.
The line was installed with good, thick, plastic pipe and tight joints that should prevent any root intrusion.  A cleaout was installed in the line to make clearing stoppages easier.
The trench was backfilled and tamped down, and, by this time, it was pretty dark. I told P. that I was more than willing to leave the remainind trench open if he wanted to finish on Saturday.  P. said that it was ok, but he wanted to finish the backfill because of his insurance liability.
The work was completed around 7:00, or so.  P. used the back hoe to remove the remaining tree trunk and filled the hole. P. even carted the trunk off for me.
Valley Plumbing was responsive, prompt, polite, worked hard and steady until the job was done.  I have pictures of various stages of the installation for future reference, and I am satisified with the quality of work, and the workers, too.

They were very good. They were very clean. They told me what they could do and what they couldn’t do. I knew how much I wanted to spend and they were able to do something’s. We have a septic system here and one of the pipes was messed up and it wasn’t being used at that time. They said that they can fix that and it will be this much. I didn’t want to spend at that time and they did some other work for me. They fixed what I needed to have fixed. I would have to call them back to do the other work. They did the work that they were supposed to do very well. For the other work that needed to be done they gave me an estimate and I couldn’t afford it at that time. They were upfront with me.

I had a reoccuring sewer line clog and needed a plumber who had a camera.  I called Valley Plumbing on 8/29/2011 and they came out.  Initially the camera could not capture exactly what the issue was and they used the Eel to attempt to clean the pipe.  The Eel was able to snake its way through the entire pipe but removed no debris or roots.  The camera was attempted again and could only view about 12 feet of the approx 55 feet of pipe.  The diagnosis was a line seperation.  I asked for a DVD copy of the video and was told it would be delivered to my home later that evening.  The video was necessary for acquiring additional estimates but it was not delivered.  I also asked Valley Plumbing for a estimate to repair/replace the pipe.  The next day I called and asked for the video again and was told nobody was available to burn the DVD and it would be delivered to my house that evening.  It was never delivered.  This morning 8/31/2011 the DVD was delivered.  I viewed the DVD and found it to be a useless waste of money.  The technicians were at my home for 2 hours and this video shows less than 5 minutes of video and half of it is of the floor in my garage.  I was never contacted regarding an estimate for replacement of the pipe.  Another plumbing company is here today and the repair is well under way.  Don't waste your time and money on Valley Plumbing.
Response from Valley Plumbing Co
"In response to the customer remarks we did come out on 08/29/11 we had to unstop the sewer line in order to run the camera which she requested, you cannot see when pipe is full of water or sewage ! We did however find out htat the line had seaprated approx 20 feet from the house and needed to be dug up and repaired. And the dvd was delivered to the customer we had trouble getting the equipment to down load it to a dvd so they could have a copy but they did recieve a copy ! So valley Plumbing did find out what the problem was customer was upset about not getting a copy of dvd same day , and the customer was told up front the cost !"
