They were great to work with. High quality windows and workmanship. If you need to replace your windows you won’t find a better company to work with.

My wife and I received our front and back door a few months ago. We were both very pleased and impressed with the work. The doors added to the exterior of our home in looks and value. The men who did the install had great workmanship and professionalism.

Very fast response to my call - Valerie was out the same day and gave me a great overview of their company, their products, and their high commitment to customer service - friendly and great sense of humor, patiently answered every question.  Three days later, Brian and Mike showed up exactly on time to install our eight new windows.  Again, friendly and professional, the guys worked hard and did a great job - done by lunch time, completely cleaned up after the job, windows fit and work beautifully!  We are very pleased, will use them again, and highly recommend this company - I only wish every company was as pleasant to deal with as St. Albans Windows!

The first person took measurements and the windows were built accordingly. However when the installers came they discovered that the old windows were not standard opening, meaning there was not adequate clearance for proper installation when the old windows were to be removed. They promptly remeasured and re-fabricated all the windows to fit all with in two weeks. Installation was done professionally and fast. I was impressed with the quality of the outside and inside caulking they used, it was flawless and very symmetrical.

The people couldn't have been nicer. The salesperson and the crew were punctual, pleasant, and knowledgeable. We looked at Pella and Andersen Windows, but they were more expensive, and their install work would be subbed out to independent contractors. St. Albans installers are employees of the company. The install was fast and efficient. The only negative was the finishing and clean-up weren't up to the standard of the rest of their work. The crew did not put everything back, and we found pieces of glass and metal around the yard after they had left. They were just so easy to work with, though, that even with the one small negative, we would definitely use this company again.

The house needed all single pane aluminum framed windows removing and new vinyl windows installed in their place. The company did all this in two days without any fuss or any mess. The newly installed windows fitted perfectly and they made sure the trim or dry wall was finished off flush to each new window so you couldn't tell they had been in there.
The windows are still in as-new condition after eight years.
I would have no hesitation using St. Albans Window Company again if I needed other products installed. They are professional, customer oriented and a nice family business who I believe give better service than bigger franchise type companies.

I called St. Albans Windows to get an estimate to have 18 windows replaced in a rental unit. I asked for the windows to resemble the existing windows as much as possible to keep the quaint look of the house and be more efficient on heat retention in the house. The salesman was knowledgeable, professional and made sure I understood the options available. He gave me the estimate and said windows could be installed the next week. I had a trip planned for that week so he postponed the install for when I returned.
When the workmen, came to install the windows, they performed the work in one day. I was totally amazed at their ability to get the work done so quickly. They knew exactly what they were doing and made sure all of the old materials were cleaned up and removed from the site.
The work was so professional, I decided to have 14 windows replaced in my own home later that year. Again, I was pleased with the promptness and diligence to detail the workmen had while working in the freezing weather.

Service was on time, very professional. Two problems:
#1. The windows did not need cleaning for about 3 years after being installed, thats when we noticed when we hosed the windows that water was running down the inside of the windows. The window in the shower has always leaked down the outside of the house, we thought the problem was with the tile that where broken around the window when installed and only glued back in place, but had the bath/shower re done and sealed and the window still leaks.
#2. The problem came 2 years later when we where notified that a worker was injured on the job and where being sued for medical services. At the end of the job the work foremen never said anything about anyone being injured when I signed off on the job.
Response from ST ALBANS WINDOW MANUFACTURING AND SIDING COMPANY
"We are investigating the [removed member name] review. As it currently stands, we cannot find any request made in the last 8 years where the customer asked us for service to fix a leaking window? If we are in error, we would like the opportunity to remedy the problem. We are well known for our quality windows and our excellent service. We have manufactured and installed hundreds of thousands of windows and have estimated 40,000 to 45,000 customers. We are simply a phone call away and stand ready to help fix this issue. All of our employees are covered under Workers Compensation in the event of a job related injury. The injured employee in question is no longer working for us and has been gone for a number of years. For an employee to take such action is extraordinary and has never happened before in our 55 years in business. We simply cannot recall being aware of this litigation. St. Albans Windows has done its best to deliver top quality products and service to the good people of West Virginia for 55 years and are saddened anytime a customer is dissatisfied. A dissatisfied customer fortunately is very rare for us, but it can happen as we are not perfect. We apologize to the [removed member name] family for their trouble and are here for any warranty work needing to be done. Sincerely, The Staff and Crew of St. Albans Windows"

Of the three companies I had do an estimate, their salesman was the most professional. He was also the only salesman that did the lead paint test on the first visit. Thankfully I didn't have lead paint, but if I did, the other two salesmen would not have known about it until later, which would have increased the cost of my quote that they had already given me.
On the day of the install, it was discovered that two of the windows were not the right height and two of the windows that were suppose to be clear, were frosted. Before the work began, the manager on site let me know if the problem and that they would install the incorrectly frosted windows and return in a couple days to quickly replace the panes, which only took them a couple minutes. The same day they replaced the frosted ones, they already had the replacements for the two that were the wrong size.
Did I expect the process to take two trips, no. But for the quality of the work, how responsive they were, and how good the windows look, I didn't mind that much. I have a few more aluminum windows from the 80s that I didn't have them replace. But when I am ready to, I will be using them again.

Came out timely and repaired the window. Left us some extra handles because the ones we have on our windows are no longer being manufactured.

First the good: they do excellent work. The house looks great. I've had several people compliment me on the job they did. Now the not so good: I really didn't connect well with the crew that did the work. The guy who did the estimate was a nice guy, but he didn't alert me to the fact that there were going to be some issues with exterior lights and electrical receptacles. Had I known that, I could've dealt with the issues before the crew showed up the do the work. Since I didn't, I had to scurry around and solve some problems in a short period of time that would've been easier to deal with had I known what to expect. Also, it wasn't clear who was in charge of the crew, and they clearly didn't want any input on what they were doing. For instance, I didn't like how they did the exterior electrical receptacles, but they said there were no alternatives. I ended up doing a lot of work on the exterior lights and on the electrical receptacles after they were finished. Also, they didn't do a very good job cleaning up after themselves. I have spent weeks picking up scraps of aluminum and nails from around my house. And that includes cigarette butts, which I really don't like. I'm an expert to her, so I guess I'm sensitive about that sort of thing, but if they were going to smoke, at least they could've disposed of their trash themselves. Finally, I really did not appreciate the fact that's a few of the crew members offered to do some extra work for me that wasn't included in the original job if I would buy the materials. They wanted to come and do the work themselves on the weekend. I don't consider that to be professional. In the end, though, the work that they did looks very good. As I said, I've had several compliments on the way it looks.

We called St Albans Window to replace our old wood and single pane picture window in our living room. They came out and gave us a quote, and we gave them the go ahead. The workers arrived and when they unloaded the new window they discovered it was cracked. They had to take it back to the shop, and returned the next day with a replacement. They started on the big middle window and in the middle of the installation, it started pouring the rain. They worked out in the pouring rain to get the window installed and sealed, then came back the next day to finish the two little side windows. The job was very well done, they were very professional, and their quote was dead on. I would hire again.

They are the best ones in Charleston. It's a family owned business and I like them very much. Their quality and customer service is very good. Their price was very good. I would be using them again in the future. In fact, I've got a job for them next month.

The quality of the windows themselves are good (not great), but the service during the initial install was a very frustrating experience for me and my family. After the 3 month process of getting what I ordered installed, I have not had to call them again.

They did an okay job. I've got a problem with one window and I'm still trying to get back and forth with each other. They haven't been able to rectify the issue. I may use them again in the future depending on how quickly they get the problem resolved.

Did a good job but, did not clean up as well as I would have liked. Left one old window in my back yard. Called and they came back to pick it up.
