The experience was bad though he was friendly and polite throughout. By tearing off the old laundry room he left my basement exposed which flooded during a storm. He turned the gas off but forgot to relight a small stove so my home was filled with gas when I got home. When calling him he just said, 'go down and turn it off. It will be OK.' Of course I had to. My cabinets overhang the doorway by about four inches. The ends of the exposed countertops were left unfinished (I ended up doing the best I could to fix them). He did not insulate the floors so I had to pay someone else to do this. I removed carpet last year and found that the new kitchen floor was about 1 1/2 inches above the connecting old floor so there is a small 'step' there now. It was hidden by the carpet. After doing some work on the house this week I found that he did not insulate the laundry room ceiling when he built it so that will have to be added now. So I am still finding things that he did not do. I am worried that the reason the rooms have always been so cold is because he didn't insulate the walls but I have no way of finding this out. And all of this with a contract that called for 'industry standards.' If this is industry standards they have fallen considerably since my house was originally built. I would never recommend this man or use his services again. His price was OK but that was with the expectation of having the work done properly. Now I realize it was way too high based on the things that he did not do.
