I'm a small young girl and they definitely took advantage of that. They claimed they needed a diagnostic test to be "sure" it was the clockspring but I told them it definitely was but to do the test and just change it. After I dropped my car off I get a call saying the test was a clock spring (thanks for that insight) and my drive side lower ball joint needed replaced, my front two tires needed replaced and they would not align or rotate the car until this other was was done. Oh, and the clock spring wasn't in the shop (even though I made an appointment for a CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT) all together the work they wanted was an ESTIMATED 900$. No. I picked up my car. Paid for the USELESS diagnostic fee and changed the clock spring myself. As I was working on my car (with help from a mechanic friend I admit) we looked at the lower ball joint mentioned and it was PERFECT. Looked 2 months old. I was furious so I called Ameritech to discuss it and ask for my money back on the diagnostic since it was useless and I was denied explaining that they did an hours worth of labor because they "traced the wires back by hand" which when I called for the appointment they explained that a machine code would tell them if it was the clock spring or not so that was bull. Then I explained the other issues and suddenly it was not the drivers side ball joint needed replaced but the passenger side ball joint needing tightened (they quoted me 305.27 for the "replacement" ball joint work and if the part is at auto zone for 115 and they get a manufacturers discount tell me why I'm paying over 180 for labor? And then it's just tightening it? So ALL LABOR?! No. Anyways, the tires were fine and he pleaded I bring the car into the shop so he could show me but I refused, I explained the balding on the side of my tire was a result of a bad alignment which is why I wanted it fixed and the other 90% of tire tred was impeccable and didn't need changing until 4-6 months. He just kept asking me to bring my car back in and I was fed up. I said "it's just a 100$ lesson with you guys, Thankyou." And hung up. I'm a broke college student trying to pay my bills and I cannot afford to lose 100$ for nothing. Had I gotten the refund I would have let this event pass, but now I'm determined to tell everyone what a horrible time I've had there. My boyfriend takes his car there for small things like oil changes or inspections and he said even he won't be returning after this.

Spoke to the mechanic, who had already done some research on my transmission, who could pull my transmission for me but since they don't do rebuilds I took it to another provider. They let me leave my vehicle on their property while the rebuild was being performed as well as fit me in when my daily driver blew a run flat to replace all my tires that I had purchased. Brought my transmission back which they installed and retimed the distributor.

Ameritech does good work and I can always get an appointment. They will also make time for you in an emergency.

I had my transmission flushed and cleaned new fluid put in using BG transmission additive. This was supposed to be the best thing to do to prolong the life of my car's transmission. It was a little more than what I was quoted elsewhere, but I figured that it was worth it with the warranty that was supposed to be for the life of the car. Well, less than 60 days later, when I had my oil changed, it was discovered that my transmission was leaking. I then called BG Products about the warranty and they referred my to the distributor and the dealer. After several calls to both, it came down to essentially there were 2 warranties available. The 1st one was for a new car and the transmission was flushed every 20-30,000 miles. I wasn't eligible since I bought the car used with 36000 over miles on it. The other option was to have it serviced prior to 75.000 mi on it. I had just over 80,000 on it. Bottom line is I was screwed. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had they had been up front with me and told me the facts before they changed the transmission fluid. (They didn't even change the filter.) They then wanted to charge me $285 to change the transmission gaskets, but I am not going to give them any more of my hard earned money. After I made my complaint here on Angie's List, they stated that they had informed me about my transmission gaskets leaking. This is NOT TRUE! I was informed of this when I had my oil changed the next time. I had my transmission gaskets replaced at Thomasson Ford who are always honest and fair with me. In fact, I have ALL of my service work done on my three vehicles done at Thomasson Ford and I highly recommend them!

Great work, prompt and professional. My front tires both went flat in the last few months because of corrosion and dirt around the tire bead so I decided to have the rear tires done before a problem arose. They did the work in less than an hour and charged me only $15 per tire, which is very reasonable. I have used them before for brake work, too, and always found them to be nice, professional, and reasonably priced.
