Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Winding Road. Getting our dog in for the weekend was easy, and they were very flexible and willing to work with us on drop-off and pick-up times. The groomer even offered to come in to bathe her in the evening and then and quot;freshen her upand quot; since we were picking her up early in the morning. It seems like a large staff, with a well-organized office, and everyone we met was nice and helpful.
Our dog is small and friendly, and within five minutes of dropping her off, three people had come out to the reception area to pet her and even brought out treats for her. She came home looking and acting just fine, and didn't seem to have any stress related to her stay. We would not hesitate to use them again.

We took our 2 chihuahua's in on a Friday afternoon to board them for the following week while we were out of town. The staff was very courteous and friendly to our dogs, they let us take them to their kennel and get them settled in with their own blanket and toys, which we really appreciated. We were also allowed to bring our dogs over for a visit before their scheduled stay to get acquainted. A couple of the staff showed us around, explained their daily routine and let our dogs play in their fenced in yard. They were very nice and patient, answering all our questions. The deracho wind storm hit the first night of their stay and power was out our whole area, so we were more concerned than usual about how our babies were doing. Winding Road Kennel was able to be one of the first in the area to get their power back on due to a full kennel and their responsibility. We really appreciated their concern for their and quot;campersand quot;, keeping them comfortable that hot week. Our dogs were happy to see us and we could tell they were well taken care of. Everything we brought in (blanket and toys) was returned to us, nothing missing. We will definately use them again.

Prior to our dog's first stay we toured the facility and it seemed clean and well cared for. It is advertized as climate controlled. There were several cars on the parking lot, suggesting several employees were there. We took her own bedding and a couple of toys, which the staff noted on paperwork. They said they would call if there were any problems, and we received no calls. They told me I was welcome to call to check on her if I wanted, but I didn't call. When we picked her up she seemed a little subdued for the first hour or so, then seemed like she could really use some exercise. All that probably has to do with the fact that it was her first time being kenneled and she is a large dog, only about a year old, and needs more exercise than she'd been getting for the week. The staff said she'd done and quot;fineand quot; and was eating and eliminating without problem. They referred to her record where they obviously keep track of those things. They returned leftover food to us, since we'd taken some extra just in case, and they returned her toys. They commented that she preferred to run laps around the fenced grassed exercise enclosure, rather than play with toys.
Bottom line is that we feel she was safe and secure while we were gone. Their policy is that she wasn't to be with other dogs. The place was clean and staff were cordial. Dogs can't talk to tell you what goes on, but this seemed like a good solution for us when we really need to leave her somewhere a few days. The price was affordable. There were options for grooming, but we chose not to try those right now. There weren't options for more than one extra exercise period, which would have been nice for our particular dog. There weren't options for webcams, swimming, etc. that some of the more expensive kennels advertise. Overall we are very glad to have this kennel available in our area and will definitely plan to use them again in the future.

It was fabulous and I will certainly use them again.

They seemed professional when arrangements were made and out dogs were first taken there.

When we returned to pick them up, both dogs were in the same very small enclosure. We had been told that they might be in the same enclosure but that it would be one of the larger ones. One of the dags is quite large. He is a Golden Retriever and Labrador mix. All the other pens were full. One of our dogs was very sick and the pen was not clean, it was very dirty. It appeared that it had not been cleaned for more than a day. Dog food and feces was on the floor and on both dogs. The dog food on the floor was not the same that we left with them for our dogs. We had to clean up both dogs before we could take them home or even allow them in our vehicle. When we asked about their condition and if the had checked on them at the office we were told they checked on them frequently and it must have just happened.

We dropped our 15 pound Shi-tzu Pomeranian Mix to be kenneled while we went out of town. I was a bit nervous about leaving her since she had never been left at a kennel before. The staff was friendly, the property was clean, and I could tell they truly enjoyed animals by the warm reception my dog recieved. They asked if I wanted to have her bathed before our returned and I opted for this service. They assured me that they would call if Chloe had any trouble. When we picked her up over a week later, she was happy, playful and clean. I would not hesitate to leave her there again.

Amy always does my little ones and she does a wonderful job. Both of my dogs are rather lively and I've had other groomers complain. But Amy seems to have a magic touch and both dogs adore her. The kennel is a very friendly and professional place of business.

I have never had a bad experience with Winding Road Kennel. I have boarded there many many time.
