Sube Shop

The Sube Shop was fabulous!!! They willingly suggested that I stop-in - even though it was near the end of the day and they were working hard to finish up with scheduled customers. I arrived to find a professional organization that does great business. With genuine care as a human and with regard to car repairs, they quickly determined what was needed and had me back on the road by 5:15 that afternoon. I was traveling on an emergency basis related to my father's health. Angie's List and the Sube Shop's willingness to help a stranger on an emergency basis was truly a God-send and helped me get to my father's bedside. Thank you more than you will ever know!!! I had oil leaking on my garage floor. They checked it out. I needed no parts so they didn't charge me anything. Very knowledgeable about Subarus but they are so busy.

We have a 2003 Subaru Outback sedan has about 137,000 miles on it. About a week prior to having the vehicle repaired the wife comes home from work said there is a knocking noise from under the car, I looked the vehicle over myself and confirmed the noise, since I am unable to do this kind of work myself any more I needed a repair shop. I had heard of the Sube Shop around town but to confirm I checked the list and sure enough they were there with a excellent rating, so the next day I was in the area so I thought I'd stop by to see if I could get an appointment soon, I stopped in and told the owner what the problem was and much to my surprise with no appointment he too the vehicle in right then and there and looked it over to attempt to locate the noise. after about 10 minutes he had told me whoever worked on this vehicle before put the wrong bolts in the fly wheel and the previous person has forced standard bolts in a metric thread that had in turn stripped out and fell out causing the knocking noise.(the previous shop that worked on the vehicle was rated on the list by me earlier this month) so without hesitation this man repaired what he could on a temporary basis until he could get me in to repair the vehicle correctly. and did all of this at no charge. So they told me I would have to bring the vehicle back for the fix because they may have to pull the engine out in order to repair it right, so I made an appointment for the following week, took the car in dropped it off, by lunchtime the same day they called and stated my vehicle had been repaired and done, they were able to repair it without pulling the engine in turn saving me a bunch of money, total cost of the job $111.00 when it could have been a LOT more. Not only that I am sure there are others out there who would have taken advantage for a lot more money.



These guys are top notch I will use them again anytime.

Prompt, polite and efficient...I did not have to wait long at all and was back on the road.

They are awesome it is the only pace I take my car to.

Got the work done fairly quickly, for a good price. Had problems communicating with them, diagnosis of the problem kept shifting. In the end, replacement of oxygen sensor didn't correct "check engine" light problem.

Called at 11:30 and they have not looked at it yet. Got mad that I called and gave me attitude, told me they'd call ASA they were finished checking it.

I have a tracking device on my car that shows when it is started up, moved, what time and how far. It was not started up until 1:07 (4 hours past my appointment time).

I called at 3:30 to find out what the problem was and they told me that the part that was needing replaced would fix all 3 of my problems: check engine light, poor gas mileage and bad shaking at higher speeds. I thought this was great news that it wasn't multiple parts needed for all my problems I'm experiencing.

I was told they had no time Friday and would do it Monday....even though I had an appointment Friday morning first thing.

I noticed on my tracking device it was also finished an hour before I called to ask about.....once again, not calling me when they knew something and once again giving me attitude for calling.

Monday (today) comes around and I call them an hour into their work day (10am) and ask if they have any idea what time frame it will be ready bc I am an hour drive away. The got snapped at me and told me he couldn't give me a time frame because he has cars from "LAST WEEK" he needs to work on. (I had an APPOINTMENT last week...but my car apparently isn't important because I'm a FEMALE and I "know nothing about cars")

I noticed on my tracking device that at NOON it was looked at so I called at 3:30 to see what's going on so I can get it today like I told them THURSDAY that I needed it tonight for class. He told me he already finished a half hour ago and had just taken it for a

"test drive"

When I went to pick up the car, the mechanic told me "I cleared the check engine light, so it might come on for something else..." That tells me THEY DIDN'T DO THE JOB CORRECTLY!!!

The entire reason I took it to them was for them to FIND the problem....HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!

When I got to the car, I noticed ALL THE DOORS WERE LOCKED and the KEY WAS IN THE IGNITION!! It's a good thing I brought my spare key with me.

I noticed the floor mat was rolled in a ball, almost tore up.

I also noticed the mileage was 117. While I was still driving, before I even got on the mile ground, the mileage was 115. The most he could have "test drove" it would be 2 miles...and that is GENEROUS mileage. The guy told me he drove it AT LEAST 5 miles.

I called complaining that they didn't do the job I brought it in for and they suddenly had no idea about the shaking and told me they can't do anything with it because it is the tire.

I brought it in to find out what it was. I understand they don't do tire work, but they TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED and the part being replaced would FIX THE SHAKING!! Now, suddenly they never heard anything about it, even though I told him to his face myself what was wrong with it. All the dozen times I called (with attitude given) I told them what was wrong.

The guy I talked to also yelled at me and told me "well, your dad messed up the wire and I had to fix his mistake" with the worst attitude I've ever heard in my life. The best part about that JOKE of a comment, is my dad never worked on my car, never touched my car or did ANYTHING to my car.

DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE SUBE SHOP.

THEY ARE FAIR PRICED, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...IN THIS CASE...I WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS AT LEAST FOR WHAT THEY TOLD ME WAS FIXED.

He is great. He is very fair priced. I can't say enough good things about him.
